RHCP is so much hornier than Weezer.

Oh, is THAT where they’re from? Only they never seem to mention it in any of their songs
AtariDump@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Seems like Californication
merc@sh.itjust.works 11 months ago
While there’s a lot of disagreement on where bands belong, I think Rage Against the Machine as the pinnacle of Angry Music is one we can all agree with.
rmuk@feddit.uk 11 months ago
Yeah, especially printers. Fuck printers.
Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Wouldn’t Deftones be in the horny section?
ickplant@lemmy.world 11 months ago
This is exactly the kind of discussion I’d like on this post.
Glifted@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Deftones are VERY horny
FeatherConstrictor@sh.itjust.works 11 months ago
This is what I came here to ask, I specifically was looking for Deftones in the horny section and when I didn’t see it I assumed Deftones was excluded.
Imagine my surprise when it’s all the way on the angry side.
All the songs are Chino moaning into the mic, make it make sense.
atomicorange@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Deftones and NIN need to switch places.
Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I’m assuming every ska band is so far off the left edge we can’t see them.
JaymesRS@literature.cafe 11 months ago
If your band has a brass section, jump immediately to horny.
Obi@sopuli.xyz 11 months ago
slow clap 👏
tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 11 months ago
Especially if they’ve got a tromboner
merc@sh.itjust.works 11 months ago
I’m not sure Cake qualifies.
thomcat@midwest.social 11 months ago
If it was just a little but longer we could
PICKITUP PICKITUP PICKITUP
match@pawb.social 11 months ago
the mysterious unreadable watermark in the lower left is actually a blurred-out rude boy
Snowpix@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
The happiest in sound, but the lyrics are definitely usually on the sad or angry side lmao
Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 months ago
The Cat Empire fell off the left, near the bottom
Wilco@lemm.ee 11 months ago
Someone has never listened to No Doubt or NIN.
TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Also Morphine, Offspring, Tool, and Veruca Tools, Blink 182 is way more happy and horny than Sublime. Weezer belongs where the Flaming Lips are and RHCP is hornier than both of them.
This chart is awful.
mostNONheinous@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I was gonna say how is the Offspring sad!?
Ledivin@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Idk, Tool feels about right? Maybe slightly more angry and slightly less sad
dukatos@lemm.ee 11 months ago
Or Korn
billwashere@lemmy.world 11 months ago
So you can’t be Angry and Horny?!?!
CaptSneeze@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Sure you can. All of the bands I the middle of the y-axis are equally angry and horny.
sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Not in the nineties, you couldn’t. 😉
expatriado@lemmy.world 11 months ago
can’t be angry and horny at the same time, that’s discriminatory to incel music /s
aeronmelon@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Angry & horny = Limp Bizkit
troyunrau@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
Big Naked. Nine in Nails. Marylin Manson. Our Lady Peace, Alanis Morissette. There’s quite a few that could be both. But, alas, this is only a two axis graphic ;)
Also, how to tell I grew up on Canadian radio…
TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 11 months ago
The amount of comments saying “ANGRY AND HORNY IS A THING!” has me a little worried about y’all.
Event_Horizon@lemmy.world 11 months ago
You’ve never had angry sex?
chandlerbung@lemmy.cafe 11 months ago
No, I sleep in a race car bed alone.
bollybing@lemmynsfw.com 11 months ago
I guess horny anger describes the incel condition pretty well.
futatorius@lemm.ee 11 months ago
Only in the best of times.
TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Not saying it’s not a thing… More that everyone needs that to be in this shit post
I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 11 months ago
May I introduce you to Electric Six?

Just keep fuckin walkin with Danny you fuckin bitch!
SPRUNT@lemmy.world 11 months ago
They definitely hit horny as well.
niktemadur@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Is there a way to put NIN into both extremes of Angry and Horny?
PieMePlenty@lemmy.world 11 months ago
My first thought exactly. To do so, we must bend space itself? We’d need a wormhole.
samuelazers@lemmy.world 11 months ago
All you need is a piece of scotch tape and loop the graph back on itself.
get_the_reference_@midwest.social 11 months ago
_stranger_@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Uh, they put sublime under happy because it’s Ska-like. I don’t think whoever made this chart ever listened to any of the words.
What I got is arguably their happiest song, and it’s *painfully obvious" it’s him reminding himself that life can be enjoyed, is worth living, even when everything is shit.
get_the_reference_@midwest.social 11 months ago
Fuck it, fine, and it’s all the same, living with Louie Dog’s the only way to stay sane.
peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 11 months ago
Yea Id put them a lot closer to angry. Id still slant them a little towards happy because of the sound.
Bruncvik@lemmy.world 11 months ago
This otherwise insightful chart suffers from the lack of NOFX.
ceph@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I still listen to Punk in Drublic <3
Lolseas@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I can’t believe they’re quitting! I refuse to believe it.
chandlerbung@lemmy.cafe 11 months ago
Where would we put the FX?
humanspiral@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
Angry vs horny as a single axis…
NIN seems to have an angry tone. March of pigs, wish, hand that feeds, head like a hole. There is one sad balad as a cover. There is one horny lyric song, that also happens to be on the happier than sad side.
Redjard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 months ago
Only ones I’ve ever heard are Radiohead and Rage against the Machine, sincerely, genZ.
Anyway are yall telling me there are no bands that are both horny and angry?selokichtli@lemmy.ml 11 months ago
OMG. I’m not the only who hasn’t forgotten about Eels.
MoreFPSmorebetter@lemmy.zip 11 months ago
NIN should be all over the place.
meliante@lemmy.world 11 months ago
No Korn?
SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 months ago
No Ween?? No Mr. Bungle???
tetris11@lemmy.ml 11 months ago
There needs to be an Optimistic <—> Bleak axis too
JaymesRS@literature.cafe 11 months ago
Needs more Ska Bands.
Viskio_Neta_Kafo@lemm.ee 11 months ago
“I focus on the pain…the only thing that’s real” super horny.
straightjorkin@lemmy.world 11 months ago
I disapprove of the idea that angry and horny are opposites.
unphazed@lemmy.world 11 months ago
90s NIN was very angry… then Trent went weird.
Sektor@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Foo Fighers in the eye of blandness.
frog_brawler@lemmy.world 11 months ago
The entire chart is wrong. There’s no “happy” alignment at all in 90’s bands. Replace “happy” with “heroin” and it makes a lot more sense.
Denjin@lemmings.world 11 months ago
Deftones are way hornier than that, most of their songs are about fucking
dont@lemmy.world 11 months ago
No Doubt on the happy side? Have you listened to the lyrics?
Taleya@aussie.zone 11 months ago
Pulp needs to move up a bit. If you don’t think they do angry you have not been paying attention
TimeNaan@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Smashing pumpkins in the happy half???
Valmond@lemmy.world 11 months ago
And NIN not in the angry?
Venator@lemmy.nz 11 months ago
The problem is they put horny and angry at opposite ends but NIN are both horny and angry.
atomicorange@lemmy.world 11 months ago
They have only heard one NIN song and it shows.
troyunrau@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
Yeah, no kidding one of the most depressing songs ever: youtu.be/T69Yk6IccL0 – The end is the Beginning is the End (Batman and Robin soundtrack)
Also one of the best tracks ever.
Rafael@ursal.zone 11 months ago
@troyunrau @TimeNaan isso me lembra os tempos saudosos da MTV
blarth@thelemmy.club 11 months ago
I would argue To Forgive is.
youtu.be/fIggUxffTN4
ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
I think they’re just generally placed in the center white area, meaning they are equally angry, horny, sad and happy. Everyone in the center white is equally part of all four no matter where in the white they were placed.
It wouldn’t be easy to list everyone in the center and say that if their name was slightly to one side or not meant they were more angry, happy, horny or sad. I think that’s why OP just made a huge white area in the center.
blarth@thelemmy.club 11 months ago
Someone only heard “Today” and never listened to a single other track before making this meme.
CrabAndBroom@lemmy.ml 11 months ago
Also even “Today” is not a happy song lol. From Wikipedia:
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Lily is kind of happyish.
baines@lemmy.cafe 11 months ago
same about Sublime lol
TimeNaan@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Idk, sublime has pretty happy melodies even if the lyrics aren’t
