- Comment on Pedestrians Walking on Right or Left? 1 week ago:
I walk wherever seems the safest. If it’s just me I’ll walk in the middle so I can dodge either direction should I need to. If passing someone who’s coming towards me I gauge direction based on the variables such as a dog or multiple people or whatever. Sometimes it’s better to stand aside and let them pass. Sometimes is better to just detour into the grass momentarily. It all depends.
If I am with someone I tend to stand between them and whatever the most dangerous thing might be. So usually towards the street with the cars, but I will swap sides if the other side has groups of people that are the more immediate potential threat.
At the end of the day I walk faster than most and I am bigger than most so I just walk wherever and try to avoid collision pathing.
- Comment on Why is coal and fossil fuels still used? 1 week ago:
Yeah we have stuff that can outright replace a lot of these things but for mist there is nothing else we have that can take over.
We are heavily dependent on oil even as we try to shift away from fuel as out primary means of transportation.
- Comment on Why is coal and fossil fuels still used? 1 week ago:
I don’t think the average person truly understands exactly how much of the stuff they use every single day is a byproduct of the petroleum industry.
The obvious ones are oils as lubricants and fuel to burn for vehicles, but it goes soooooooooc much further than that.
Here are some quick examples of things many people do not realize use petroleum byproducts in one way or another.
So while we very well may be able to stop using traditional fuel to run vehicles in the future we still have to find alternatives for a lot of other things. The industry is not going anywhere anytime soon.

I can honestly say I’ve never done that even though I have the required hardware to do so lol

More like 90% showering and 10% seeing how much water we can trap against our bodies to make the loudest sound when we drop it.

5 and I know this because it’s the fork that lives in my room at all times because it’s my favorite fork and I don’t like when someone else dirties it or misplaces it. It’s my desk fork. Always ready for leftovers or door dash. It’s the perfect fork.

I saw dudes show up to class with just shorts and flip flops on. No shirt at all.
I’ve seen women show up in basically a thong and nipple pasties.
What college professor is getting their panties all up in a twist over shit like the human body? I can understand not wanting literal dressing like that in highschool but in college?

The StarCraft FPS.
I’m still mad about it.

…how else would people around me know what direction I’m about to move 2+ tons of metal???
I can’t stand how often I see people changing lanes or taking turns with ZERO blinker usage. Selfish short sighted fucks.

Oh you melted the plate to the bowl lol. That’s kinda impressive. It does make me wonder if your bowl was not dishwasher safe to begin with. Things shouldn’t be melting/fusing in the dishwasher.

Let me walk you through my 3 different answers.
-
Shrinking the bowl and the plate at the same time might just pop the seal when left in the freezer all night. It would only take a couple Crystal forming in the right spot to break that seal.
-
Blasting air into the seal could potentially resolve the pressure difference holding the bowl to the plate or force enough air into the bowl that it actually builds positive pressure inside and that pops the bowl off as well.
-
Heating the bowl would get it to expand slightly and cooling the plate would make it shrink slightly so doing them at the same time could cause the perfect seal they have formed to shift enough that it allows the pressure to equalize/release.
It’s less about heating the gas inside the bowl to reverse the vacuum and it’s more about breaking the seal that has formed in the first place.

Someone slept through physics class a few times.
Heat and/or cold would be your friend in this situation.
Personally I would just toss the whole thing in the freezer for the night, but there is a small chance that results in a broken plate in the morning.
If you have an air compressor a blast of air right against the lip of the bowl would probably also pop it off.
Other than that just run hot water over the bowl (or submerge it) and then get the plate cold while being careful to not have the hot water touch the cold plate or visa versa.
Best of luck soldier.

- Comment on Are there any games you don't play as it was intended to be played? If so, what game and how? 1 month ago:
I like playing games that incentivise stealth as Michael Bay films. Give me rocket launchers and c4. Yeah I don’t have the high score for the level but I will kill literally every single non-vital NPC.

I mean yeah. There are clearly a TON of people who are willing to spend exorbitant amounts on the same shitty sports game every year with zero improvements.
Until the consumers stop buying the slop and gargling down the micro transactions and battle passes I think AAA is cooked.
I mostly play indie games these days now anyways. If I am playing a AAA game its probably been out for a few years and I got it on sale from steam for like 75% off or more.
I think most gamers have recognized that AAA is garbage these days. Only time will tell if the major companies change their behaviors or ride that slop heap into the grave as many large and one great studios already have.

Yeah but you gotta remember the tech savvy pirating types are the minority by a long ways. Average Joe is just gonna pay the 5 bucks to watch his favorite childhood movie on a whim. Just like he’s probably gonna shell out 80 bucks for a game he’s gonna play for a couple hundred hours.

I was curious so went and looked at my top 3.
Free now (paid 30 bucks for csgo back in the day) CS2 ~7500 hours
$30 Hunt showdown ~1200 hours
$25 beamNG ~1000 hours.
Now those cost per hour figures don’t take into account the thousands of dollars on skins in CS I spent over the years, but still. Even with the money I spent on skins and keys I got way more than my moneuss worth out of counter strike.
Hunt I bought a bunch of DLC to support the devs until they drove that game into the ground and now I wish I could refund all of it. Fuck Crytek and David Fifield. If that man ever gets hired at another company run from any game he touches.
beamNG I actually bought before it was even on steam as a tech demo on a stand alone client. Easily the best investment in terms of fun per dollars spent. I would give them more money if they let me.
Idk man. I do think 80 bucks for Nintendo games is a bit steep but if someone is having fun and they feel they got their moneys worth out of it I ain’t gonna bash em.
- Comment on Anon is worried about men 1 month ago:
This is unfortunately a very common thing that women pull. I have a lot of “handy” skills and I have had multiple women pretend to be interested in the hopes that I would fix something in their apartment for them.
I cannot fathom pretending to be interested in someone just to use them like that. It’s really quiet dehumanizing and then for so many people to cheer that behavior on is disgusting. Not really a mystery people aren’t lining up to go on dates these days.
- Comment on Nintendo is Bringing Us Kicking and Screaming Into the $80 Game Era with the Switch 2 1 month ago:
Which I recognize. I still feel like there is a weird disconnect between gamers and cost. If I spent 80 bucks on a game and I get hundreds of hours of fun out of it that was easily worth the money. I have spent far more on significantly worse fun per dollar events over the years.
I just find it kinda funny how gamers get with the costs of games when compared to their spending on other media. Like how many people complaining about the 80 dollar games have rented a movie on Amazon for 5 bucks or something. That’s a 2.50 an hour for entertainment at best.
I won’t be buying the console or the 80 dollar games but I find the conversation and interesting one.
- Comment on Nintendo is Bringing Us Kicking and Screaming Into the $80 Game Era with the Switch 2 1 month ago:
I’m not defending this behavior but keeping up with inflation games that cost 60 bucks in the early 90s would cost well over 120 today.
I know they don’t do physical media as much or at all in some cases.
I’m just pointing out that technically 80 bucks for a game is still a good ways behind inflation.
Not defending it. Just pointing it out.
- Comment on Anon is worried about men 1 month ago:
Like the other comment said you’re reading into it a bit much.
And I would feel fairly confident that the commenter was a woman because attacking someones personality (that they don’t know at all) is typically done by women. If they don’t like something you said they tend to tell you that you have a crap personality or a tiny dick.
So I am open to being wrong about that commenter, but I would feel comfortable putting a gentlemans bet of 1 dollar that it was left by a woman.
- Comment on Anon is worried about men 1 month ago:
Yeah but typically that conversation comes after days of texting/calling to get to know them somewhat. It’s not like I’m gonna match with someone and immediately ask them if they are comfortable splitting the bill on the first date. Maybe I should just ask that right out of the gate to avoid wasting time. Idk.
It’s the constant lost progress that wears you down. You’re carrying the conversation and keeping it fun while half the women are dry and give short answers to everything because they are messaging back the 20 other guys who all matched with them that day. So you put in the effort to try and stand out only to find out the night before a date or when a date is first brought up that they aren’t compatible. It’s just draining on you after enough times.
- Comment on Anon is worried about men 1 month ago:
So either myself and all other other single men I talk to about this all have terrible luck or there is some sort of shift that’s happened in the last ~10 years and it’s finally getting so bad that others are picking up on it.
I was in a relationship or dating in one form or another from the age of like 14 until I was ~27. Only in the last 6-7 years did it get really bad.
I think it’s a combination of a lot of things but ultimately it’s become a numbers game and most guys just don’t want to put up with the bullshit anymore. Especially in this economy many dudes are just checking out. Not only from dating but basically everything.
- Comment on Anon is worried about men 1 month ago:
First of all: *Your
Secondly: Yikes bro. You made a LOT of assumptions and pretty much all of them were wrong.
I don’t really give a shit about sex. At least that’s not my goal when dating. I am looking for someone that is kind, thoughtful and curious. Someone who is intellectually stimulating and emotionally mature.
I could call up pretty much any of my exes and get sex if that’s all I was after. I am just looking for genuine human connection.
When my choices are expend time, energy and money just to be taken advantage of/toyed with or sit at home and be at peace with myself I’m gonna take the peace every time now.
If you went fishing for years and never caught anything except toxic sludge at some point you just stop fishing. Spend that time and energy on something else. That’s where most men are at these days. And yeah some of those guys are just unrealistic assholes, but most of them really aren’t.
Personally I am just living my life. If I happen to bump into someone and hit it off I won’t fight it, but I’m not going to actively spend my time, money and energy looking anymore.

That is simply not true. 130kph is the recommended speed. For certain marked stretches of the Autobahn there is no speed limit and it is understood that you do not pull into the left lane without checking for fast moving cars behind you. If they find that you still would have crashed if you had been going 130kph you are unlikely to be held responsible.
She was filming a video at the time and when she woke up in the hospital days later the German police told her what had happened and she was not found to be at fault at all. The deceased person who had pulled into the left lane without checking was entirely at fault. She flew home as soon as the German doctors had done the major surgery to her legs and spine.
My mom’s entire side of the family is German and many of them still live in Germany. Talks about the Autobahn have come up at family gatherings on multiple occasions.
I am willing to admit my data might be out of date, but from a quick Google it appears to still be the same rules.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
It’s about 3 times the speed limit for most highways in most places. Give or take.
The stopping distance at those speeds is 500+ meters.
Even with the best tires, brakes and driver that’s several football fields end to end before that car comes to a stop. If anything happens at those speeds it is unlikely the driver will be able to do anything about it in time.
There was a woman that worked for a car magazine that was doing a video on the Autobahn and someone pulled out in front of her around those speeds she instantly killed everyone on the vehicle she hit and she was left permanently injured and barely able to walk. She wasn’t even at fault in that situation either. It’s the job of the people pulling into the fast lane to check for fast moving cars and for whatever reason they didn’t.
You friend is playing a dangerous game with more than their own life.

Splitting the bill on the first date is possible with the right women, but for a lot of women the second you mention it they get offended and/or ghost you. I would say ~30% are open to splitting the bill for the first date and the rest find it to be a huge turn off or they will legitimately get mad.
I have had women call me broke and tell me to delete their number when I suggest we split the first date bill before hand. I mean it weeds out the bad ones early but it still sucks.
