Looks like Lemmy formats empty hyperlinks as loops back here.
Depends on the app, and maybe also the instance you’re using?
In eternity for lemmy it shows as a link to
https://reddit.com/
if I long press it, but has aninvalid link
error if I try to click it. - Comment on In the U.S., are all voting booth areas required to have carbon monoxide detectors? 1 week ago:
It could work if done selectively on key areas that are statistically slanted to one side, but the logistics of pulling that off and keeping it a secret mean it’s just not a logical conspiracy.
- Comment on Partner has ADD, do I have misophonia? 1 week ago:
If they’re not prepared to turn down the TV to a reasonable level that’s on them. They know it’s upsetting you and are prepared to continue upsetting you. That’s really unhealthy and inconsiderate behaviour.
One thing that might help is getting them to use headphones with the TV. Most TVs these days have Bluetooth support. If I’m watching a movie late at night (common) I’ll always use headphones. Again it’s just common courtesy.

- Comment on How does Netflix, HBO and other services get their subtitles? Are they now using AI to help translate? 2 weeks ago:
apparently the different variants of English don’t agree on what “captions” and “subtitles” are. <sigh in non-native>
Probably doesn’t help that the closed caption option usually appears in the subtitle menu in most software 😅
But yeah, I think what you’re referring to is normally called “closed captions”, but I can see how it would be shortened to just “captions” for convenience in some cases.

This must be another reason why conservatives are so afriad of trans people: they disprove their misogynistic assumptions.

Depends on how fresh the garlic is or something too, I find the locally grown stuff tastes a lot better than the imported, but it’s also way more expensive where I live 😔. Guess I need to try growing it myself.

Yeah but taking out Putin won’t help as much now.

PCSX2: better resolution than PS2, has save states, and you can use reshade in some games to make them look better.

Alexa and Google home don’t have anywhere near the same capability for automations, they let you do simple things, but not reliably, and they also have more limited integrations, so less options when purchasing things.

In my use case I often don’t really need to change the humidity at all, I just want to cool down.

I guess youd need some water purifier involved though, which would probably get rid of any efficiency benefits
- Comment on Is there a portable swamp cooler with a window hose like air conditioners have? 1 month ago:
Could mitigate the water costs by draining the AC condensation into the swamp cooler 😅
- Comment on Is there a portable swamp cooler with a window hose like air conditioners have? 1 month ago:
I wonder if using a swamp cooler at the same time as AC would increase the efficiency 🤔

- Comment on What is it about humans when society rewards individuals with the power of millions they want to use it to fuck up society? 1 month ago:
The people that tend to be the best at ammassing the most wealth tend to be the ones who care the least about others.
They destroy society because the wealth/power they are ammassing is being stolen from society at large.

Depends on the road, but yeah, some parts don’t have lights. I guess you’d call it a freeway in most places where it does.
