Most physicists I’ve met would just use a 5.6 ohm resistor, or whatever they have on hand within an order of magnitude 😅
- Comment on Are display sizes always measured in inches? 2 weeks ago:
It’s a bit like how in NZ you can order a “pint” of beer, and the bartender will fill up a random size glass around 400~700ml 😅: you can buy a 30" TV, and if you measure the diagonal, it’s around 79-82cm 😅

It’s just a bias, not a rule. Looks like Nacho may have fallen asleep with leftward bia then half rolled over while asleep ?

I don’t know what’s so impressive about the water, looks the same as water in every other 3D game from 1998?
I think Wave Race 64 had better water iirc

Maybe we should shorten it to Q++ 😅 (j/k)

$90m doesn’t sound like very much in terms of crypto news 😅
- Comment on Why Israeli Hackers Just Burned $90M of Crypto 10:59 4 weeks ago:
irrecoverable unless the cryptography is broken, which would destroy all of the currency’s value
Unless you manage to break the cryptography and keep it a secret 🤑 😂

Don’t forget about the grunge bands Dire Straights and Phil Collins…
- Comment on What's the best way to respond to someone who says "transracial is just as valid as transgender"? 4 weeks ago:
Transracial is an actual thing, but it refers to people of one race adopted by another
I think a better word for it would be “Transcultural” or “Transethnithicy” ?
But I’ve never heard of that specifically, closest people I know of are people with parents from other cultures who grew up in a different culture than one or both parents, call themselves “multicultural” or as having “multiethnicity”…

The premise that countries need to be self reliant and manufacture things locally seems like trump rhetoric to me. But yeah I don’t imagine he’d be a big supporter of Trump more generally with all the cuts to science research Trump is doing. And I didn’t bother watching much further into the video once I realized he was shilling his own product.

I don’t know what OP is talking about, but the whole premise of this video seems quite trumpian.

poorly educated and easily impressed people from rural America.
is a pretty mean spirited and stereotype-based thing to say.
Also his target audience is anyone poorly educated and easily impressed regardless of where they’re from. 😅

- Comment on where are worker rights parades? why are we focusing on very limited issues? 1 month ago:
I don’t think they’re angry at pride parades, they’re angry that there’s no similar parades/demonstrations for workers rights, and using pride parade as an example to be emulated…

I think both will happen, at the same time:
With the steam deck using Linux games are finally working on Linux, which is a major barrier to it being used for personal computers. And with Google and apple phones getting worse, projects like Ubuntu Touch might pick up some momentum…
But yeah those will likely still be quite niche…
