I had one of the first hdtvs. Well it was HDTV Ready I think it was marketed as. It was essentially just a 36in 800x600 crt monitor. Had to pair it with a special directv receiver. I think it was a RCA MM36110 and the damn thing weighed nearly 200 lbs. Needless to say I’m pretty sure I left in the house I sold because it was just too damn heavy. I have a 55inch TV that feels like a toy compared to it.

Hell my wife takes hers off as soon as she gets home with this weird yoga magic trick thing where she never removes her shirt. I swear it breaks physics.

Most of the people I work with were my friends long before. My boss and my grand-boss I’ve know for 30 plus years. I also have several other friends I work with that I hang out with occasionally outside of work. I do have other friends but they were originally part of that same group I’ve known for 30+ years.

I already work with all my friends so problem solved?

So it’s like generating a CA and then signing your own certs.

Oh I missed that separation before. Ok my bad.
- Comment on Is it completely impossible to do age verification without compromising privacy? 2 weeks ago:
Technically this works EXCEPT the required third party. Either it’s the government and you have to trust them with information of knowing everything that required age verification or its separate company that can and would sell your data to data brokers. Being free and NOT the government seems mutually exclusive.
- Comment on Epic boss Tim Sweeney thinks stores like Steam should stop labelling games as being made with AI: 'It makes no sense,' he says, because 'AI will be involved in nearly all future production 2 weeks ago:
Yeah this is my take as well. AI can be a useful tool but putting people out of work so you can save money to create soulless art is just wrong.

Ok I had heard something about that and figured this was about that but given the time of year my brain was fried. Thanks for the clarification.

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or this was posted as true.

Egg is a much harder thing to replace. My son is vegan so my wife is often baking things that are vegan. Chia egg or aquafaba are usually pretty good. She makes a vegan muffin that I honestly prefer to “normal” muffins. Although I’m not 100% sure what she puts in them, I’d bet its applesauce.
Whatever you do, don’t ever have vegan “cheesecake”…. run away… quickly

- Comment on Why isn't it considered vegan to harvest animals who die naturally? 3 weeks ago:
It was a lame attempt at humor since it’s called fossil fuel… I know oil primarily came from ancient algae and plankton that died and sank to the ocean floor.
- Comment on Why isn't it considered vegan to harvest animals who die naturally? 3 weeks ago:
I would think driving a car is not vegan because it’s fueled by dead dinosaurs.

I don’t think it’s a matter of not if but when, at least for video. Look how much better it’s gotten since the Will Smith eating spaghetti just 2 years ago.
- Comment on Sony’s Concord Is Playable Again Thanks To Fan-Made Custom Servers 4 weeks ago:
I’m not sure that’s possible with multiplayer games, at least the central server part. They could release the central server code as an open source project… that would be very useful. But MMOs need that central communication to even work. I mean I guess you could engineer some sort of peer to peer but I’ve dealt with weird firewall rules in various DCs I’ve had servers located in or god forbid the lack of incoming connectivity in peoples homes. Outbound traffic is usually fairly unrestricted so a publicly available server is the way to go architecturally.
- Comment on Sony cracks down on Concord custom servers, issues DMCA takedowns on gameplay videos 4 weeks ago:
Well if it’s “written off” of their taxes that means it’s taxes they don’t pay which is essentially paid by the rest of us in taxes we do pay. So yeah it should be public domain since we “bought” it.

I’m a self proclaimed apple fanboy and I would seriously consider switching to a Linux phone by Valve. I have to admit all this hardware they’re releasing is quite intriguing.
