US played badly. That first goal was just embarrassing. The third one was even worse. Belgium absolutely dominated.
The fourth was extremely embarrassing as well, although who cares at that point. There’s a defender there watching Lukaku literally flat-footed, even though there was nobody else around for him to guard.
At least with the header we had two defenders closely marking the guy, even though that just made it an even more spectacular goal.
The extra minutes goal… Man, it really would have been better if they put us down at 1-3 instead of 1-4.

It actually is one of the primary sports for women in the US. And their womens team is one of the best, having won the world cup 4 times, 91, 99, 15 and 19

What amuses me is the soccer fans here who think we’re going to get better. I first encountered this in '94 when we (the US) hosted the world cup and got spanked by a Brazil team playing with 10 players. I don’t think it’s weird or uncommon for trump to ask FIFA to reconsider a red card. He’s a politician doing politics there. It is weird for FIFA to go along with it though, I would be upset at FIFA if they hadn’t already proven how corrupt they are in the past.
It has nothing to do with politicians doing politician things. It has to do with a narcissistic megalomaniacal snowflake who has to make everything about himself, take credit for shit he has nothing to do with and only knows how to cheat and get away with it.

You’re right but also extremely wrong:
Unbeknownst to most, Belgium was one of the absolute WORST colonial powers back in the day, which deserves all the condemnation in the world.
That being said, MODERN DAY Belgium isn’t doing any of that, much less the national football team.
