Probably gamers put him in office in the first place. Steve Bannon capitalized on Gamergate and started latching on to it to recruit young white male gamers to the far right. Then these GamerGate proponents became manosphere followers.

You can just buy those adapter cables that lets you connect PWM case fans to your GPU and just jury rig the fans onto your GPU. Not the best looking setup. But I rather have a silent PC than a good looking pc. Like you hear your PC constantly while you only look at your PC once in a while.

So why not put paramedics on a e-bike, so they can actually arrive at the scene first. It’s not like the patient gets put into the ambulance immediately on arrival. Might as well have someone take care of the patient before the ambulance arrives. Just put a e-bike in the back of the ambulance or rack it on the front.
- Comment on Anon is looking for a new video game 1 week ago:
Like in Elden Ring you can beat late game bosses with a low stat character if you are really good. So basically you rely on your own gaming skills rather than on big number defeats smaller number. Sure Elden Ring is a mix between mechanical and numbers difficulty, bosses are hard because of high HP (numbers difficulty) but their difficulty also comes from their attack patterns (mechanical difficulty) which you have to dodge at the right moment and attack when their is an opening, so it’s also relies on the mechanical skill level of the player.
While in turnbased RPGs like Final Fantasy 7 you rely purely on the character stats to defeat enemies. Sure there is tactics involved but it’s impossible to defeat a late stage boss with a low stat character in those type of games. Since it is purely a big number defeats smal number type of game. So that’s numbers difficulty. Of course you can defeat bosses that a low stat character shouldn’t defeat if you load up with a ridiculously amount of items like potions. But that’s still numbers difficulty. Their is no mechanical skill involved from the player.

These new type of sensors require less power so that’s the biggest advantage. But them needing smaller magnets probably could mean they can be manufactured cheaper than Hall effect sensors. The increased accuracy and size shrinkage is just a bonus on top.

Read the article. This is an improvement over Hall effect sensors.

Did you even read the article? This solution also uses magnets but requires smaller magnets and the response curve is more linear than with Hall effect sensors.

- Comment on I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre 1 week ago:
People have been denied entry to the US because they said they were house sitting. To the law that’s considered work for accommodation. Immigration has every right to deny you entry. Doesn’t matter if you guys agree with it or not.
Just never say you are doing chores or work in exchange for accommodation to any border cop in any country. So never say you do homestay or are housesitting. It will get you kicked out in many countries not just the US and Canada.
Also this article just proves to only cross the US border by airplane. It seems that every tourist that is in an ICE detention center crossed the border on land.
If she landed in Vancouver she would’ve been send home by plane. Also I bet are she wouldn’t have been caught if she went trough immigration at the airport. Canadian immigration cops are a lot stricter at the borders than at the airport.

- Comment on Important information about compatibility of Nintendo Switch games with Nintendo Switch 2 2 weeks ago:
It’s only a relative handful of games with issues and only one is a Nintendo game. And many with issues are from the same developers. Looks to me that those developers didn’t use the NDK properly. It is a software side issue so could be fixed before the launch if those publishers care enough.

For sure. It’s a great machine. I have one. But I’m trying to keep expectations down. Some people might be surprised to know that it isn’t a latest gen machine. Some people might have too high expectations because of all the rave it gets.

The only game I want to play is that new Donkey Kong game. Paying €520 for playing just one game is ridiculous. I’m gonna wait till Nintendo releases more games. I’m not gonna spend €450 for it to collect dust like my PS5.
- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Overview 2 weeks ago:
But the Switch cards are not MicroSD cards. MicroSD cards are produced at much larger scales than Switch game cards. And there are many manufacturers producing the MicroSDs. That’s why MicroSD cards are so cheap because there is competition. While the game cards are a bespoke design using non-standard flash memory and only produced by Nintendo’s partners in lower numbers than MicroSD cards. I heard from a publisher that they had to pay $8 per unit for the 16GB card when they released a small indie game for the Switch 1. That was almost the price of the digital version. So they had to charge double for the retail version. The Switch cards are relatively expensive that’s why many publishers opted for a small card and forced the consumer to download the rest even when the game could fit on the bigger card. And Nintendo still takes a royalty for every game sold on top of that.
But even if a publisher could buy a 256GB Switch card for $10 bucks that is money not going into the publishers pocket. So of course a publisher like Activision will opt for the smallest card possible so they can earn a couple of bucks more per game sold.

The Steam Deck is getting long in the tooth. New triple A games don’t run very well on it or aren’t even playable. It’s fine if you wan tot run older games or indie games, but otherwise you might have to look for one of the competitors.
