But they aren’t wrong either. Some places with these type of buildings have been build wrong. Like in the Netherlands in the 60’s they build an entire new neighborhood that had only these mega modernists apartment buildings that followed Le Corbusier futuristic vision. And nobody wanted to live there, because other neighborhoods with history were much more pleasant to live in. So eventually only the poor and desperate moved into the neighborhood. And the neighborhood turned into a rundown ghetto. Today almost every of those 1960’s apartment buildings in that neighborhood has been torn down. Was much cheaper to rebuild from the ground up than the renovate. Same is true in many suburbs of Paris.

- Comment on Ubisoft target audience when they play a good game 1 week ago:
Yeah gameplay wise the game basically leaned a lot on novelty. But they are wrong to say that it lacks world building and lore because it’s scant on narrative. That’s like saying “the Quiet Place lacks world building because there is barely any narrative”. The game is excellent in using game mechanics to tell a story. Instead of relying on the storytelling mechanics of film.

You could get a modded Xbox 360 + Kinect for cheaper than this. It’s not like young kids care so much about graphics anyway.

It’s even crazier that office space are designed like that. And then managers are suprised that everyone wears headphones in the office.

It’s not just about music. Like some bars and restaurants with modern interior have shitty acoustics, since they are open spaces with concrete walls and large windows. I went to a restaurant recently, wasn’t super crowded, music was played at low volume, still had a hard time hearing people. Since everyone in the room had to speak louder and louder to make themselves heard and overcome the reverb in the room.

Could be some sort of chronic inflammation. Because you eat too much sugars and carbs. Could even be pre diabetic. Regular blood sugar spikes can wreck havoc inside your body.
Like I had some sort of chronic tendinitis and it only went away after is started to eat healthier and less frequently.

And what about the Romance languages. They call Germany “Land of the Alemanni”, they called an entire country after a single Germanic tribe that lived near the French/Italian border. It’s like calling the entire country of the Netherlands Amsterdam.
- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 sales stumble over Christmas 2 weeks ago:
It also offers nothing compelling for the hardcore Nintendo fan unless they just like to collect Nintendo stuff. No new Zelda, Mario, Luigi, Animal Crossing or Smash. I think Nintendo completely misunderstood the market. Mario Kart 8 is the best selling game on the Switch 1. So Nintendo probably thought they should focus on MK for the Switch 2 launch. But MK8 was not the main reason people got the Switch. Like for example they got the Switch for Animal Crossing and then bought Mario Kart as a side game. Mario Kart is universally like by Nintendo fans it’s just not a game that is on top of people’s wishlist. Nintendo fans don’t want to buy a new Nintendo console just for Mario Kart or Donkey Kong.
Price isn’t the main reason why sales are dropping. I doubt that every Nintendo fan with the means to buy one market already has one. Most are just waiting for a game they actually want to play.

Fortnite is turning into Roblox. You can now make games for Fortnite with Unreal Editor for Fortnite. This Steal the brain rot game is made by a third party dev.

- Comment on Anon thinks about wheat 3 weeks ago:
True but someone had to figure out the process even if it was by accident. Like the first people who tried the first potato species probably didn’t eat them again because they got sick. Until someone ate a potato (against the knowledge of the time) that was left out of the ground over night.
- Comment on Anon thinks about wheat 3 weeks ago:
Yeah but if you live high up the Andes it’s basically freeze drying, because of the freezing nights and the high altitude sun during the day.
- Comment on Anon thinks about wheat 3 weeks ago:
Also freeze drying them first. Ancient taters were poisonous, since they are nightshade. And freeze drying them would reduce the toxins.

lol Ubi. Why are they still treated as one of the big ones? Like Mojang alone is probably way more valuable than Ubi in total. They basically double A now and they should probably focus on double A productions. Also their market cap is even lower today they are a sub billion euro company now.
- Comment on World's Best-selling Video Game Consoles 3 weeks ago:
I think the Wii stole the momentum. PS3 and 360 were just crazy expensive compared to the Wii and the prev gen of consoles. And unlike PS2 those two consoles lacked a lot of games for kids. So for parents it was an easy decision to just get a Wii. Not to mention if you already had a PS2 you had a large library of games at your disposal and the machine was modable, it’s why it still sold very well in the end of the console’s lifetime especially in middle income regions, like it sold super well in South America. So many PS2 owners weren’t going to convert to PS3, just way too expensive and can’t play pirated games.
- Comment on AI-Induced RAM Crunch Could Push Next PlayStation and Xbox Past 2028 3 weeks ago:
It will definitely boost PS5 sales. Sony loves to boast about PlayStation 2 being the best selling console in history but they conveniently leave out the reason. It’s because there are modchips and even software jailbreaks for the console. It’s why it sold super well during the end of its lifetime in low and middle income regions.

- Comment on GOG is Getting Acquired By Its Original Co- Founder: What It Means For You 4 weeks ago:
Matchmaking is nothing more than a user database query. That database sits on GOG’s servers and the only thing GOG does is put users into a lobby and then send that data back to the clients so the game can show it to the user. And then when the game starts GOG connects the clients to the host. So developers don’t have to setup their own lobby and relay server. That host can be another client, then the developers don’t have to pay for anything, or a dedicated server which the devs have to pay for themselves. And in case of a dedicated server clients do not have the server binaries.
