That version is by far the best. The current one is a dumber Person Of Interest.

As The Gonz wrote about 35 years ago,“She’s a slut, and you want to be.” Truer words have never been penned.
- Comment on Jeremy Renner Turned Down ‘Hawkeye’ Season 2 Because He Was Offered ‘Half’ His Season 1 Salary: ‘Did You Think I’m Only Half the Jeremy Because I Got Ran Over?’ 4 days ago:
The best thing about Hawkeye was the Florence Pough (sp?) character. Just pure comedy.
- Comment on OMG no please don’t call me. 5 days ago:
I fucking hate people in general, and do all I can not to interact with people if I don’t have to. But if I have to talk to someone, I’d rather drive 20 minutes and talk face to face than deal with any type of phone or video interaction. That said, I’d much rather just have a quick chat or email to get the same thing done.
- Comment on CEOs when an AI agent ($5/hour) can't output the work of five highly qualified human workers (250$/hour) 6 days ago:
In my experience, most workers would do at least as good a job in upper management, but the reverse is not true at all.

It wasn’t too long ago that I did it. Maybe 8-10 years ago. I realized nothing I needed came in the mail, so I just stopped checking. At one point the postman literally just took all the junk mail and dumped it on my front step. I raised holy hell with the post office about littering, after jamming it all back into the outgoing mail. I think the way the postmaster did it, instead of dealing with my assholeness, was just setting my residence to unoccupied in or something along those lines. Spam, of all sorts (aside from Spam musubi) is just a fucking drag. Like all marketing and advertising.
- Comment on To whom it may concern 1 week ago:
Yeah, it got so bad I was worried I was going to rage on the delivery driver (for what it’s worth, I support the USPS and have not heard a legitimate argument about why it should be stopped. But fucking junk mail. I know it accounts for a chunk of their income, there has got to be a better way. Like making the price of every single piece of junk mail that is delivered to me is $10. Something. Cut out junk mail and only have delivery 4 days a week. Not consecutively.
But yeah, to get back to your question. I talked to the Postmaster at the local Post Office and they had me write and sign a piece of paper saying,“I DON’T WANT THIS SHIT NO MORE!”. The trouble it caused in my life was absolutely dwarfed by the positive of not having to deal with that shit anymore.
- Comment on To whom it may concern 1 week ago:
USPS got so pissed at me for just leaving my junk mail in the box. I told them over and over I didn’t need trash delivered to my place. In the end, I just stopped all USPS deliveries. I had nothing of importance coming in through the mail.

- Comment on We call people who want to regress conservative and not reactionary 1 week ago:
Living in the US, I think a large part of why we can’t seem to agree on anything politically is because we’re using separate definitions depending on which perspective it’s from. It makes conversations impossible.
- Comment on What's a highly-rated, critically acclaimed TV series that you couldn't get into, or have no interest in? 2 weeks ago:
I actually watched several episodes of the British original and thought it was fine. I didn’t go out and find the rest to watch or anything, but it was fine. That said, I think watching the original made it hard for me to watch the American version of the show. I have a lot of trouble watching a show if I’ve already read the book(s) for a similar reason.
- Comment on What's a highly-rated, critically acclaimed TV series that you couldn't get into, or have no interest in? 2 weeks ago:
It took me several attempts to watch parks & rec. It ended up being one my favorite. I’ve tried The Office a couple times and couldn’t do it. Same with Sunny.
- Comment on A bit of salt makes it taste more savory 2 weeks ago:
I enjoy Lemmy for the most part, but this popular narrative that you continue to correctly point out gets so tiring on here. The self-ownership, or self-sabotage by these self-righteous, elementary level critical thinking skills having, non-voters is sickening. If I didn’t vote, I wouldn’t take it as some moral victory against a fucked up system, I’d just accept my apathy.

Moonlighting had like twice the words as any other drama at the time. I’m guessing it’s too old to be included in this ranking.

I’ve been using this:

since YT started the “shorts” bullshit. Highly recommended if you are civilized person who is not OK with vertical videos.
- Comment on History never repeats itself but it rhymes 3 weeks ago:
I feel like so much of the disagreement about racism in the US in social media, is a difference between society at large and individuals. Most people aren’t racist (over the top so. However, I alsothink everyone probably has some sliver, however slim, of racism in them). If you travel around this globe of ours, some countries do suck more than others, but people are, for the most part, pretty friendly and welcoming.
That said, I think it’s insincere to believe that the historical trauma of the history of the US has not had lasting generational/racial negative effects.
If I think someone is saying I’m racist because I’m white, I dig in my heals a bit and think, if not say, what the fuck? If I think they are talking about systemic inequality in general, the history, the current data, etc., then I’ve been getting better and better at not having that blood pressure rise in defense and starting from a point that we probably agree on a lot, and just may have differences in how to address the problem.
- Comment on Scientists Map Miles of Wiring in a Speck of Mouse Brain 3 weeks ago:
Just some thoughts while reading through the article (thanks for posting it, very interesting):
In 1979, Francis Crick, the Nobel-prize-winning scientist, concluded that the anatomy and activity in just a cubic millimeter of brain matter would forever exceed our understanding.
Who the hell would say something like this? It’s like the 640k is more than enough RAM. Everything I’ve read on this brain mapping makes me think we won’t understand the thing until long after I’m gone. But, despite the current bullshit, I expect we’ll get there eventually.
But our own brain, which is about a thousand times bigger than a mouse’s, presents a much bigger challenge, he added. “The human brain right now feels like outside the range of what is possible,” he said. “We are not going there anytime soon.”
Oh, OK, so I’m not super original in my thinking, again.
But the future of the endeavor is uncertain. Last year, Congress cut funding to the BRAIN initiative by 40 percent, and last month President Fuckhead signed a bill cutting support by another 20 percent.
Well shit. The line of when we’ll get there may get pushed back, but I hope/expect us to get there eventually.

It’s such a dichotomy. Women get catcalled every day and feel uncomfortable and harassed. Understandable. The average man gets catcalled a handful of times in his life and cherishes those moments almost as much as their children’s births.

Before I went to University one of my parent’s University friends told me that my dad got laid a lot back in the day. Like looked me in the eye for emphasis when he said,“A LOT!” I didn’t have the best relationship with my dad, but before I went off to higher learning, I broached the subject with him. “How?” was my basic question. He looked a little confused and just said,“I just asked them if they wanted to fuck. Most said no, some said yes.” It’s not complicated.

That is the one that’s killing me too. I just received an email that my subscription date is coming up. I want to cancel, at least my soul really wants me to cancel. But my broken body, limited $$, and limited mobility makes me feel like it would be cutting of my nose. It is really difficult to get to, never mind around, local stores.

I did not see Herman’s Head mentioned. I’ve only met one other person that remembers it. Not great in a change-your-doors-of-perception for life, but a fun sitcom from the early '90s.

I found Dirk Gently to be fine, with the glaring exception that the main fucking character made it almost unwatchable.

Yes I have. I’ve worked to get progressives elected. I’ve walked precincts to encourage people to vote. I did that shit for decades. And shit just got worse. What I see, over and over, is fuckers bitching about 2 choices who never even bothered to vote in the primaries, you know, when you usually actually have a choice. Complaints about 2 party system, first past the post, etc. are absolutely legitimate, but it comes down to the fact that these people are elected. So yes, I am blaming the voters. A little less than 50% of the stupid fuckers still think shit-for-brains trump is doing a great job.
