I don’t understand this. The older I get, the more angry I get at the system and want to tear it down 🤔

Right? All of us are doing okay. Times are tough, but we’ll make it through.
At the end of the day, I just want to see my grandpa happy and want him to have no regrets. Thankfully, he is comfortably retired and has been for like 15 years, but who knows how much longer he has. I hope he ends up doing it, but I think he feels too guilty.

My grandpa wants to go to space in his lifetime, but doesn’t want to spend everything he’s been saving for my us. I’m like…dude. You worked your ass off all this time. Go to fucking space.

“I, someone who isn’t trans, haven’t experienced harassment due to being trans, so I doubt it happens”
Dude, seriously? You can just stfu and be an ally and support people that have a harder time than yourself, but instead, you choose to doubt the experiences of a vulnerable minority, something you statistically are unlikely to see first hand.
- Comment on Bumper sticker 2 weeks ago:
I’ve had some people in friend circles who’ll start going off on weird anti trans tangents when they’ve been drinking a tad too much. They exist, I think most are just less vocal outside of the internet.

You know, I’ve had my gripes with them, but they have not once denied a claim for me. I even had a fully covered precautionary MRI because a couple of my family members have died suddenly from aneurysms in the past.

Lol, that reaction probably haunts her, too. “Why was I so mean to that boy for no fucking reason 20 years ago?!”
- Comment on I live in the green part 2 weeks ago:
I think that stereotype is also partially driven by immigration selection pressures: those that were able to immigrate would statistically skew towards higher income earners or those that have had higher education. The parents themselves are going to hold higher expectations of their kids due to their own achievements.
Sorry to hear about your friend. I’m not sure to what degree you knew him, but that’s horrible :(
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
I specifically pointed out that nuclear energy has its issues. Holy crap, you just accused others of strawmanning when they aren’t, then strawman yourself.
We’re done with this conversation. Nothing productive will come of it. Learn to have a productive conversation instead of stifling others.
Cheers.
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
Speaking of strawmen, no one said nuclear energy is good for the environment. Nice job using exactly what you accuse others of doing, though. Spot on projection.
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
To be arguing pro solar, wind, water, and social and economic change, you would have had to have mentioned them. The only things you said were isolated anti nuclear rhetoric lol.
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
It’s not a strawman. It is 100% completely comparable to your point. You’re over here using deaths as a point against a technology when the current de facto standard society runs on is incomparably worse.
But keep handwaving and calling actual legitimate arguments against what you’re saying, “Strawmen.”
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
You people always come and compare one energy source from one to another
- Comment on TURKEY POWER 3 weeks ago:
Nuclear waste is indeed a problem, however it is a contained problem that can be isolated. Oil’s byproduct are distributed into the atmosphere and are killing every living thing on earth. Do you know how many people die every year due to pollution from burning fossil fuels? It’s orders of magnitude worse. The fear of nuclear waste, while absolutely an issue, is so incredibly blown out of proportion compared to the silent killer that is fossil fuels.
- Comment on We were there monkeys all along 4 weeks ago:
I think we’re looking too deep into what is really meant to be a simple thought experiment. Entertaining the discussion, however, if the occurrence of a monkey to type, say Hamlet, on the first try, is not physiologically possible, it will never happen on the first try by any monkey even with infinite monkeys as it is not within the realm of possibilities. Infinity just means every possible outcome will occur, but anything outside of the realm of possibilities is still impossible and won’t happen no matter how many instances are attempted.

If it’s not sunny where you live, then you just get electricity from where it is sunny. It’s really really simple
Yeah, really, really simple. Wait, what are transmission losses?
