- Comment on 'Borderlands 4 is a premium game made for premium gamers' is Randy Pitchford's tone deaf retort to the performance backlash: 'If you're trying to drive a monster truck with a leaf blower's motor, you're going to be disappointed' in the future:
I’m so sick of bad performance from all the big engines these days. Even unity makes simple 2d games chug.
- Comment on Star Citizen fans sigh deeply, rub their foreheads as developer casts doubt on Squadron 42's 2026 release: 'I don't know if we're going to make it' 1 day ago:
Meanwhile I’ve done five or six playthroughs of Freelancer while the game has been in development and had more fun than I’ll ever have with Star Citizen.

Luigi definitely would’ve got you first.
- Comment on Reddit lost it 1 week ago:
How pathetic how much lemmy doesn’t like this comment. Even 15 years ago, censorship on the internet was taboo. Now these lame-ass losers want to pull the ladder up behind them after enjoying whatever the hell they wanted in peace.

If only there was a way to prevent people from looking at your cleavage…

uh there are still loads of people living on like 30k/yr. you 100k people will fucking live
- Comment on production line 2 weeks ago:
I miss the energy of using image compression to get good-looking images that are small in file size. People see nothing wrong with a simple image that’s like 5 megs.
- Comment on Are those of us who grew up on older games more attuned to latency? 2 weeks ago:
First multiplayer FPS I played was Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (released in '97). In that game, you had to lead your shots to a silly degree to actually hit anyone. But I think you’re right; by then most games weren’t suffering from that problem as much.
- Comment on Are those of us who grew up on older games more attuned to latency? 2 weeks ago:
On the one hand, we’re more accustomed to better hardware latency. On the other hand… we played first-person shooters on 56K modems. The lag was legendary
- Comment on The internet kind of sucks right now 3 weeks ago:
I would. If you wanted to make money from it, you should have sold it as an eBook instead of posting it to some forum.
- Comment on The internet kind of sucks right now 3 weeks ago:
Am I the only person who doesn’t care if people ‘scrape’ my ‘knowledge?’
That’s the whole point of putting something online. So anyone can look at it. I’m not about to get petty about who has access and who doesn’t.

First screen is much more readable at a glance.

lol, you literally put words in the original commenter’s mouth:
I know you think this will harm you and everyone you know, but it’ll be much better if you just stay quiet instead of vocally opposing it
and now you’re incredulous about something similar being done to you? lame

Only because most of the people here don’t have the faintest idea what AI is or how it works.
- Comment on Lemmy be like 4 weeks ago:
I’m a lot more sick of the word ‘slop’ than I am of AI. Please, when you criticize AI, form an original thought next time.
- Comment on Have you encountered this? 5 weeks ago:
Makes me wonder how many servers out their think their customers are being cheap because they only tipped X% when in reality they actually tipped 15% or whatever before tax.

Shadow of Mordor is just so much fun to screw around in. Does a really good job making you feel badass

You’re not the only one. I’ve beaten The 7th Saga more times than Chrono Trigger lol.

Star Wars Galaxies was kinda like that. No idea if it’s still playable though.

My best friend and I used to spend summer afternoons trying to figure out the answers to all the riddles on the chests. We sucked at it but when we finally managed to crack one, the feeling was euphoric.
The music was awesome. I used to listen to the CD while I slept.

Thief 2 is just incredible. Many games try, but none can dethrone the stealth game king.
And I totally forgot about Diddy Kong Racing, but yeah. It’s legitimately a better game than Mario Kart 64.

- Doom/Doom II. (The modding scene is still vibrant 30+ years later!)
- TIE Fighter.
- Diablo II.
- Comment on Socially inept, introverted employees. How do you survive the workplace? Because I’m in dire need of some serious advice. 5 weeks ago:
They’re doing you a favor finding you a different position in the hospital. The ER is no place for an autistic introvert. I’ve had something similar happen to me and I was much happier with where I ended up.

Also forgot to mention the latest version has tiles support that looks like this: Image
So you don’t have to play with ASCII graphics. ;)
- Comment on RPGs that are optionally pacifist? 1 month ago:
Sil (specifically Sil-Q, the most modern fork) is a great Tolkien-esque roguelike in the vein of Angband where pacifism is a first-class citizen. You get a lot of XP just by observing hostiles from the shadows. I highly recommend it!

Descent II has maybe the most unique soundtrack I have ever heard in a game.
