As a person, he is absolutely vile and disgusting. For one thing, he raped children and recently killed ~160 school girls. He combines the crookedness of Nixon, the dementia of Reagan, the genius of W and the child molesting of Clinton into one person.
From the perspective of a citizen of a EU country that has blindly followed the US for several decades, I'd like to add one more thing. He is the first president who put a dent in the alliance between the US and Europe and who is really not our friend. He threatened Denmark and Greenland, puts random tariffs on EU products out of spite and worst of all, he appears to be a tool of Vladimir Putin, who has invaded a EU member.
I do not think that 'hate' covers what I feel about this absolute piece of human garbage, but he is definitely one of the worst persons currently alive.

W certainly wasn’t a genius. He had incredible PR people and was lucky people didn’t blame him for being asleep at the wheel during one of the most pivotal events in American History, which he then exploited to put us on our current speedrun to fascism.

I’d argue that he’s worse than Hitler. Hitler seemed to at least love his idea of Germany. Trump cares only about himself. He’s not above any of Hitler’s brand of crimes, the chance to profit off of them has just not introduced itself fully yet.
Only two things can drive a man to such extremes as what Hitler did.
Love and insanity. The scary part is when someone has both.

Easily without a doubt. He has the lowest approval rating of any president before he stopped them from tracking it.
One thing I am certain of:

I can’t or won’t even begin to imagine how that could be possible.
Trump is evil and stupid, someone worse would be evil and smart, and there’s plenty of those around.

He does fit, but remember: He’s just the symptom and if the Republicans wanted too, Trump would be gone in 24h. There are just many evil people who keep Trump were he is while pushing him one way or the other to get what they want.
Trump has been an awful human being long before he became president, so no sympathy needed, but what is being done to him is elder abuse.

If we survive Trump. We will be weaker in so many ways. The institutions that underpin our democracy have been severely damaged. I also expect a severe economic downturn over the next few years.
I worry that the next Republican President will be younger more calculating and energetic. They will look at the Trump era as a blueprint for taking permanent political control of an already damaged system.
I believe that the best years of our country are behind us. The erosion of the ethical values of those serving in public office the ‘acceptance of daylight corruption,’ betrayal of our allies, and the attack on education, intellectualism, and renewable energy will set us back for a long time.
Whoever comes next will be blamed for the state of the economy and the government.
There’s just one sliver of hope: When Trump keels over the Republicans will tear each other qpart like cats in a bag. That’s your opportunity. You have to get the right people in, you (the “left of MAGA”, basically normies) will win an easy landslide just that one time…

I think he’s the most hated living person in the history of the world, if you go by number of people who hate him. There were less than half as many people around when Hitler was alive.
I think W Bush painted the world black and white when there is nuance. You’re either with us against us. Started two very unpopular wars and dragged Nato members in. Caused mass immigration to Europe from leading to the raise of people like Bannon, Trump and Farage. The entire far right really. For me, Bush was the catalyst that led us to where we are right now and is the worse president. But even I think I am wrong cause my memory doesn’t go back much further.
And worse of all. Bush didn’t even win. Roger Stone literally stormed the recount, Bushes brother shut the count down and the supreme court went cool, cool, cool. Been hating ever since the shocking lack of democracy in America. And the fact that some anti abortion Gun nut in some swing state determines how many of my friends will die in wars, how much petrol will cost and how much food will cost due to sheer greed of the owner class in America.
So for me. Bush 2. Trump just let the world see the corruption in day light where the others kept it in the dark.

Bush launched two wars where the US invaded countries in the Middle East, leading to decades of destabilization in the region and leading to millions dead. His admin coincided with the rise of Fox News and conservative punditry outside talk radio. Patriot act, tax cuts, oversaw the recession, etc.
Israel’s genocide started under Biden, so I can’t exactly put that on Trump even if he’s supported it. This quagmire with Iran isn’t as big as the invasions were.
Trump’s been more damaging domestically with his scotus appointments and emboldening racists, but if you look outside just the US, then yeah I think you can definitely make the argument that Bush was worse.

Short answer: yes
He’ll be remembered in the same category as Hitler, Stalin and Zedong. Unfortunately, I think this is his plan… especially considering his desire to be famous/powerful and his lack of moral compass.
You can pick any president in history and find skeletons in their closets, and many have committed atrocities that far exceed any one thing that Trump has done, but Trump is actively dismantling the republic before our eyes and he will be remembered as in incompetent buffoon and his rise to power and his contributions to the end of American global hegemony will be studied by sociologists, historians and political scientists for ages to come.
And in 100 years time, when they teach about this period of time in schools, all the kids will be able to think is “How could anybody just let that happen?”, yeah, it makes me irrationally upset about being lumped in with the people who abide by this farcical nonsense, or worse, with those who are actively participating in knowingly doing as much harm as possible.

Donald’s favorability polling is even lower than Jimmy Carter, which definitely sets him among the most hated presidents. People in 2024 voted for two things: Immigration reform and affordability. Donald has done neither. He allowed ICE to act as Gestapo, running around masked in unmarked cars chasing down and violently assaulting fifth graders, which pissed off a significant number of his own voters who did not vote for that. It doesn’t help that he started a war with Iran after explicitly promising no more forever wars, and that war has made the cost of living significantly worse for all Americans.
Republicans in generally are polling around 15% lower in approval than Democrats. That’s rig-proof territory if it holds until November. Republican voters won’t switch parties, but they’ll stay home or opt not to miss a badly-needed day’s pay in order to vote for a president who made them poorer, as we saw Democrats do with Biden/Harris in 2024.

During Trump I, I maintained that Bush Jr. was far worse due to the deaths and destabilization from invasions, Guantanamo, mass surveillance, unauthorized drone strikes, and on and on.

I think Bush was bad but a lot of the bad stuff he did was somewhat reversible (ICE existed , plus it’s not his fault that ICE is now used as a papers-please. There was PATRIOT but we reversed it so it’s actually a great example of what I mean.) and relatively short-term. Reagan, meanwhile, made a giant hole in our infrastructure that is still ingrained within everything today.

Bt ICE was literally created by the Bush admin align with the rest of the DHS, and the Patriot Act wasn’t reversed so much as disseminated into earmarks attached to various spending bills so it’s actually even harder to get those freedoms back. Even our current immigration system is descended from Bush era policy, including the fucking wall.

It’s hard to keep perspective over the decades. I was more passionate back then, and he really did some horrible things, but I don’t remember feeling like he was so, I don’t know, disgusting of a human being as Trump.
