- Comment on Why have we as a society just accepted the increasingly blinding bright lights of cars? 19 hours ago:
I have light sensitivity, the new lights cause physical pain. I completely stopped driving at night because of them and sometimes have to wear sunglasses at night as a passenger. They’re hell
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
In addition to everything else people have mentioned here, because it got co-opted by fascists and is now being used for mass surveillance and to terrorize minorities
Also it’s killing the environment
- Comment on Amount of paper I used in one school year 2 days ago:
That’s honestly less than I’ve gone through for some art projects. At least it’s recyclable
- Comment on 2 days ago:
That is unintentionally how ADHD brains work. It results in executive dysfunction
- Comment on What does everyone think of the economic outlook for the next year? 4 days ago:
I don’t think the “economy” has ever actually picked up in my lifetime. At least not for the working class, I don’t give two fucks if something happens to billionaires.
- Comment on Is it just me or does it seem Google is either AI filled or becoming obsolete? Is there an up and comer that can be what Google used to be? Or are we stuck oogling stuff forever? 4 days ago:
I’ve been using Kagi as well to good success
- Comment on How do people with ADD and ADHD watch movies or shows??? 5 days ago:
Your understanding of ADHD is very poor. That said, I generally don’t. I have to watch a show/movie multiple times to actually get it, and it has to be one that I actually care about
- Comment on If AI is so smart, how come it doesn't track the time and date? 6 days ago:
AI is the very definition of “fake it til you make it”. There’s no actual intelligence there
- Comment on 1 week ago:
That’s how electromagnetism works. Electrical current consists of electrons flowing “in reverse”

- Comment on When I retire I can I get a decent home for about 200k in canada with about an acre to live on that is out in the boondocks, and grow some weed and vegetables? Other questions inside. 2 weeks ago:
If you’re serious about this you should visit for yourself, ideally in the middle of winter. You definitely won’t want to keep your windows open in the middle of winter. Yes it’s cold. This winter was particularly long for some reason, Toronto is only just getting out of winter and towns further north still have ice.

- Comment on How do stunt people fall down stairs without hurting themselves? 3 weeks ago:
I’m not a stunt person but I do a lot of dangerous stuff as a circus performer. Same for us, we’re always healing random shit. A lot of the time we end up injured when things go right, we just control the level of injury lol
- Comment on If the US got to the point of rewriting or coming up with a new constitution, which minds would be the equivalent of the minds today? To rewrite the whole thing? 3 weeks ago:
PhD level Historians
- Comment on What’s the difference between communism and socialism? 5 weeks ago:
A socialist society lacks private ownership of the means of production (the things that make society functional). You can still start a business and make money, but wealth goes back to the workers rather than being hoarded by a single private entity at the top.
A communist society is much stricter, lacking private property and social classes. The state owns everything and allocates it based on need

- Comment on How do I drink more water? 5 weeks ago:
I hate having to deal with the canisters but the spicy water definitely makes my partner and I both happier (no syrups/sugars) as well. I got my sodastream used for around $25 so the most expensive part was the canisters.
I’d love to one day hook it up to a bigger CO2 tank but I need a place with a bigger kitchen first
- Comment on How do I drink more water? 5 weeks ago:
Water tastes better with a few grains of salt or a slice of lemon in it

Renewable energy would remedy much of this situation, but some CEOs somewhere might not be able to buy a fifth yacht
- Comment on Why is 'Philippines' spelled with a PH, but 'Filipino' is spelled with an F? 1 month ago:
Why is Houston “hew-stown” while Houston is “house-ton”
- Comment on Sunglasses suggestions 1 month ago:
My best pair of sunglasses are a pair of dark lenses with a snake motif that I got at a thrift shop for like $15. Keep them in a glasses case and they won’t get scratched.
Fwiw, if I see someone wearing thick black rectangular lenses nowadays I assume they’re Meta Predator Glasses
- Comment on How will you celebrate? 1 month ago:
I plan to book/get a tattoo that reads “I outlived the clown” under a cute clown face. I’m a circus performer so it’ll be a fun talking point

My first language is Spanish, and I also speak French. Both are gendered heavily. I hate gendered languages but it is what it is. You can call a car “une voiture” (f) or “un char” (m). Hell, you can call a thing “une chose” (f) or “un truc” (m)
