American education has always been a complete shitshow. Recently I realized that I never actually knew anything about the war of 1812 because the extent of what was taught to us in fucking NY was like a single page in a textbook. Unless you took AP you didn’t learn shit.

I’m a citizen living in another country. I will NEVER FUCKING EVER call myself an American, much less a proud American. I’ll call myself a NYer because I owe most of who I am to that state/city, but I am ashamed about the country I grew up in.

Most apartments I’ve lived in (2 people and a dog) fall into the 500-1000 sqft range. I’d say 1500-2000 is plenty big for all but the largest families

Probably a combination of it being cheaper (as the others said) and data centers not really having to be near right next to cities. It’s easier to plop them in the middle of nowhere.

I really don’t think age has much to do with it. I’m in my 30s and honestly find it easier since people are more adult at this age. People are less likely to play stupid games

It makes me so angry with “the patriarchy”, because it isn’t just keeping women down, it’s also hurting and sometimes killing men.
I agree, I wish more men would realize that feminism also benefits men. Even things as small as being able to freely express yourself are hurt by the patriarchy

I knew of one person here though we never actually met before moving. Also happened to end up meeting a long time internet friend.
Aside from those two, my partner and I searched for community events and went to quite a few. Met a lot of people there. Community events are honestly a fantastic jumping off point.
Also made one or two friends randomly just hanging at a park.

Do men really not have any friends? I just moved to a new country and made like 5 close friends in the first few months, so that blows my mind in a sad way
