I don’t use fax… I was not aware that it was insecure but I guess that makes sense.

Nah, not particularly… If you like it up til then, you will probably like it.
It’s not that I think it got bad or anything, but I think there was a noticeable drop in quality from season 3 to season 4 (the second Netflix season). Maybe it’s because I was watching as they were released.
The first two seasons, when it was still on Channel 4 in the UK, were just so fucking good. Only a few episodes each, but man. And the Christmas episode with Jon Hamm, goddamn. So fucking good.
Then Netflix bought it. Season 3 was good, it had some bangers (I imagine Charlie Brooker had some of the plots ready to go already).
The show is still solid, and I will watch the new season for sure. But I don’t know, it’s just not the same.

Honestly not even worth wasting my time. As if there isn’t a billion news stories and websites explaining this shit already, and much better than I ever could.

I remember finding that episode annoying when it first came out.
I watched it again after 2016, and boy did I view it differently.

I’d prefer to never have to interact with someone that hateful and stupid.

Well historically, that doesn’t really matter all that much. They just stop talking about it and continue to quietly support it and vote for it.
- Comment on How do the Republicans feel about Project 2025 now? 4 days ago:
It’s so unfortunate too, because so many of our society’s current ills can literally be boiled down to “so and so refused to admit they were wrong”
- Comment on How do the Republicans feel about Project 2025 now? 4 days ago:
I have literally stopped speaking to my parents over this and have put the ball in their court, telling them that all they need to do is re-evaluate their position about this one fucking guy and admit they were wrong.
And I guess they’re fine with just not speaking to their son instead.

So many of them are in denial about it themselves. It’s very strange indeed.

There are some things where fax still makes sense. Maybe I’m old, but I’m not a fan of “digital signatures” and “digital seals” for professional licenses. In cases where a document needs to be signed and/or sealed, I would much prefer a fax to a PDF with a “digital seal”

I think it means that they were ahead of the curve prior to the year 2000, which is when they started to fall behind the curve.
Not going to comment on the accuracy, but it makes sense to me.

I don’t know what the fuck you do on the internet… Are you really trying to suggest people don’t get hacked like this? People have lost millions in crypto from shit like that.

As someone who has been on Bazzite for maybe 6 months now, I will never go back to any form of Windows, regardless of how neutered it might be.
I can’t speak for VR though.

You’re just making yourself a target. People go after low-hanging fruit, and people who haven’t had security updates in a decade are top of the list.

If you’re into gaming, Bazzite is based on Fedora (SilverBlue, so immutable), and it works amazingly for gaming and everything else.

Considering you stopped receiving security updates years ago, anything developed since then is going to have a field day with you.

Pretty much everything (except for games with kernal level anti-cheat as others have said) works now.
Even if Steam says “unsupported,” there’s a decent chance it will work out of the box, or maybe with a little tweaking.
It’s fucking great.

I got a Framework a little while back for this reason… The modularity of it means that I can upgrade it piecemeal as needed without having to buy a brand new laptop, or suffer with outdated hardware before I can justify buying a new laptop.
