Not the same at all.
Take home tests are usually formatted in a way where it doesn’t matter if the student has access to textbooks, or even the internet, since they still need to synthesize a response (thinking specifically of essay questions here, but it’s not exclusive to them) that shows they understood the material.
LLMs can now do that now. Or at least emulate that.

There’s no fucking way Bush is worse than Trump. It’s not even close.
- Comment on A lot of people who try to start a religion are seen as mentally ill. Like Jim Jones, David Koresh, the UFO guy, and L Ron Hubbard. Then could it be a safe bet that Jesus was mentally ill? 1 day ago:
he didn’t try to start a religion.
Uhhh. He definitely did.

I usually get Taco Bell on those days.
My area is so lousy with amazing, authentic pizza places, that it’s somehow insulting to myself to even consider eating chain pizza.
I will say that the price of pizza has skyrocketed over the past ten years or so. It’s easily 2-3x as much as it used to be.

If you like Jusant, check out Cairn. I feel like it did everything better.

Yeah, I really hope the devs go on to make a full game with the mechanics. Game gave me sweaty palms while playing, and something about the way the camera moves while you fall a long distance is very immersive. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it does a good job giving you a sense of dread and urgency.
I imagine its insane in VR.

My favorite one so far has been Idols of Ash, however it’s pretty short and more of a tech demo than anything else. Also, you’re climbing down instead of up, but it works very well with the grapple hook mechanic. Really fun. It’s also very cheap, currently on sale for like $2.50.
White Knuckles is good too, but I feel like I’m getting carpal tunnel while playing it. It’s fucking hard imo. The way the inventory works is a little jank, and the fact that you need to swap items in and out of your hands quickly has been really difficult for me. I might have to go back and give it another go though.
Cairn is a third person mountain climbing game that has some simple crafting mechanics as well. Cool game, also tough at times.
I got Peaks of Yore during the current sale, but haven’t tried it out yet.
There are others that I can’t think of right now, but I’ll edit the comment to add them if I remember.

If you like climbing in games, it’s basically an entire genre at this point, and there are some really fun ones.

Yeah man if only we had ways to protect our most vulnerable from the unavoidable natural environmental danger of firearms.
It’s really too bad that, like the heat, gun violence is just a part of nature and we just have to live with it.

- Comment on What's the difference between socialism and communism? Is there one? Or are the terms interchangeable? 6 days ago:
First off, the 1956 Republican party is not the same as the modern GOP. You conveniently chose the time immediately before the schism that essentially reversed the two parties.
If anyone wants to argue about this, I suggest you read about Strom Thurmond. Perhaps the most vile, openly racist politician of the 20th century US. Thurmond was a lifelong Democrat, until the party started supporting civil rights.
That’s when he and his fellow Dixiecrats (racist Southern Democrats) moved to the Republican party.
Second, nobody classifies North Korea as that, except for North Korea. That doesn’t mean that we cannot label it accurately.
Third, Hitler never claimed to be a Marxist, nor have I ever seen anyone make that claim. I’ve seen the “hurr durr Nazis are socialist because it’s in the name,” but there’s a distinction between socialism and Marxism.
Fourth, the logic of the Bloomberg thing isn’t sound. “Almost as if he were a green” as if having less cars is completely unique to the Green party. Not how logic works.

Communism in the strictest sense is the means of production are owned by the state.
