i don’t remember my dreams, except ever few years I get a metadream. where I dream I wake up so stuff then realize it’s a dream and I wake up, then i wake up and go stuff only to realise it’s still a dream. then I think about how I can’t tell if it’s still a dream, then I wake up go to the bathroom, start breakfast… only to realise it’s still a dream and I wake up…
when I wake up for real I stay in bed for a bit wondering if it’s real or not… it’s very frustrating… might still be in a dream…

a single grindr leak could more to heal the nation than anything the dems are trying…
actually, me farting in my desk does more to fight conservatives than whatever the dems are doing.

it’s funny how conservative now can’t make art. when in the past they made the lion king. a good movie that happens to support apartheid.
- Comment on 🎵 It means something something... 🎵 4 days ago:
forgot about apartheid. he overthrew the government to reinstate his family legacy, Apartheid rule.

and fish
- Comment on Birbs & Dinos 1 week ago:
usually, in biology we use monophyletic groupings, like all descendants of rodents will always be rodents.
however, those terms “lizard/fish” are not monophyletic, because otherwise all vertebrates would be fish. those are paraphyletic (group includes some descendants of a common ancestors).
there are already polyphyletic, where we have descendants of multiple sources, ie, Herbivores would be polyphyletic.

spend the day planning a meal, go shopping, spend hours cooking, tomorrow that food will be shite flushed down the toilet. why even bother
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
every hobby can be as expensive as you want it to be. the cost ceiling is however much the richest person doing that hobby is willing to spend.
but the question was about the cost of entry. and with drawing, the cost is negligible

Took like twice a hero dose and it did ziltch, after a year of stopping antidepressants (weren’t working anyways) because the are known to stop shrooms from working. I also need like really high doses of weed to feel a dose, smoking doesn’t help me as my liver cleans it faster than I can smoke.
I’m only alive because I have a superhuman liver, I tried leaving this world a few times by OD (blood pressure meds+alcohol, OD on antidepressants…) no effect whatsoever, had to wake up next day and attend meetings like noting happened.
nothing is more surreal than attending a zoom meeting right after trying to leave the planet.

I tried getting into knitting once, and really appreciated that the entry bar is so cheap. I never made the jump for more expensive yarn, life got in the way and stopped.

the gas money is in the victim’s wallet. if they are broke then you shouldn’t have killed them. come on due diligence.

the thing with long term depression, no amount of consequences seem real compared to the promise of feeling any positive emotions for a few minutes.
the main reason I didn’t try it is because I fear all the consequences and also I fear that I won’t feel anything good from it. tried other drugs like weed and shrooms and they are all disappointingly meh, I think my brain might be immune to some drugs. tried a dose higher than a hero dose and all it did is keep me awake with no other effects. it was annoying.

all of those are non like the others

I lived in Aberdeen, Scotland, the birthplace of golf, the barrier to entry was non existent. Practically everyone there golfs. when it is a nice day they just walk to the nearest golf course (there are like 6 in the city itself), and play, stick collection? you just need like 3 to begin and you can get the from charity shops for like £40. No one uses those eclectic golf carts they see them as abominations and ruins the sport (the whole point is to walk about 5 km, if you skip that then it is not a sport, they are allowed in some places for accessibility).
In the rest of the world? rich people sport

That ain’t bragging that’s product placement. they ruin everything they touch.
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
all hobbies have a cost floor for entry and a cost ceiling. one is the actual cost, and the other one is a made up number based on the richest person who does that hobby.
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
who even says that drawing is expensive? it’s so obviously cheap thing to do. we did it so much as children. if it was expensive no kids would be allowed to draw

Basic concepts like property or ownership make absolutely no sense in the digital world.
By letting people hoard files like a greedy dragon those files are infinitely more available to everyone, in a decentralized network that is free to use and is superior (in content, efficiency, speed, cost) to every for profit company that streams content.
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
also, there’s a high when you hoard data like a dragon

oh, I used to do a lot of hiking.
Didn’t consider a short hour long walk a hike.
I guess those ones do practically have no entry bar. given that everyone already likely has clothes capable of handling that.
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
I agree that in some conditions, entry is practically free. Assuming you have comfortable walking shoes and a backpack and assuming you leave near some trails.
Otherwise shoes and basic equipment for jut getting into it might cost a few 100$. not expensive, but I would not say free entry.
- Comment on surely your hobby can't be that expensive 1 week ago:
although the entry bar is theoretically non existent. practically? not really.
