But what if you already bought a console? It shouldn’t be held hostage by Sony selling games at 100$ in the future. A PC without Steam is still a PC.
- Comment on Sony 5 days ago:
That’s a point against Sony, specifically being a closed system. Having to buy games on Sony’s store requires getting a PS5/6 in the first place, but why get one when PCs are open, and usable if Valve goes rogue too?
- Comment on What is your favourite gaming console you have played? 2 weeks ago:
That’s… new. I’ve been injecting GBA roms the whole time, which takes some more time to setup than just copying files.
But I only learned yesterday that L+R+Select resets the current 3DS game instead of having to relaunch it, and last year that Select+Start launches DS games in native resolution.
This damn thing, man. Keeps on giving.
- Comment on What is your favourite gaming console you have played? 2 weeks ago:
A third of my vote for 3DS is just because of DS games, really. Almost cheating, but my favourites are the 3DS ones anyway.
- Comment on What is your favourite gaming console you have played? 2 weeks ago:
3DS, no contest. Even factoring in PCs, Steam Deck is a bit behind.
I’m past the phase of daily playing it, but still don’t usually leave home without it, and I feel I’m only halfway through games I might be interested in after almost a decade. I just found Professor Layton this year.
- Comment on Steam Machine pricing announced (from $1049-$1428 USD), reservation lists open 2 weeks ago:
Base price seems fair for a PS5 form factor PC, if you want that (I do). But I was hoping to grab the 2TB model… that’s making me reconsider.
Apparently 2TB hard drives are already pricey anyway, but maybe I’ll try to be careful and uninstall games more, like with the Deck? 512GB is already mostly full with emulation and games I want available on hand though…

If 30% is massive, what do you propose the cut be? Epic said their 12% cut was unsustainable already.

Isn’t the protag Ash, and that’s the villain? I only know this game from niche videos on Youtube about how broken he becomes if you do his sidequest.

More summer school BS?
TF are you trying to say here, that’s the whole appeal of P4 😭
I was intially impressed by more unique animations, like the Marie cutscene, but on closer look it still looks mediocre. It’s the bare minimum above P3R, which actually cut animations from the original.
I’m fine with it being filler. You shouldn’t and don’t need to buy it if you don’t want it, but the kids who need post-P5 QoL will buy it so Atlus gets more money for other games.
…the only problem being, “what other games?” P6 is the only big game since the end of 2024, and it’ll be very late 2027 probably…
- Comment on What is a game you can’t understand why its so popular ? 1 month ago:
And then there’s fans like me who like when magic goes pew pew and big sword with 40 STR go blam. I just like how active combat and magic system is. Before I found Dark Souls 2 I played Skyrim as a kid because it’s what everyone talked about, and its combat is so dogshit in retrospect.
- Comment on PlayStation boss says single-player games won’t come to PC going forward | VGC 1 month ago:
Valve still hasn’t figured out physical copies and reselling.
But then, maybe they eventually will, or Sony and Nintendo give up on physicals (as they seem to want to)
- Comment on Game Consoles Are Pricing Themselves Out of Relevance 1 month ago:
The PREVIOUS generation of consoles already lasts a damn long time. Unless it’s a really shiny looking AAA, it’s probably on PS4, we got Yakuza 3 Kiwami recently.
And I think there’s some current gen games that look like they could’ve ran on PS4 if they were optimized or scaled down - especially since the Switch 2 and Steam Deck can run them!
I don’t think the next gen can offer much besides just boosting fps or resolution, and I’m satisfied with 1080p 60fps, maybe even 30.

If it ends up running well on AYN Thor I might finally upgrade from my 3DS, but one of the only videos I saw tried running Hi-Fi Rush and it didn’t launch, all the other examples were indies which I assume are playable anyway.
- Comment on Pragmata surpasses 1m copies sold in just two days 2 months ago:
I for one like both Nintendo and Valve, and the few Nintendo game discussions I read had as much obligatory “Nintendo bad” complaints as every Valve thread has obligatory “Valve bad” comments. I’m finding those complainers more obnoxious even, because at least Nintendo criticism usually sticks to posts already criticising Nintendo.
- Comment on Pragmata reviews! 2 months ago:
Heard someone drop Rick & Morty for that (not for the drop in quality). I assume you wouldn’t want to discuss it with creeps, but the problematic media are popular enough that it should be easy to find sensible subgroups online.
If you’re insecure about public or (shitty) friends’ opinion, you might also not want the association. Which I’d say is a coward thought, but I hide playing some games too.
- Comment on America 2 months ago:
The irony didn’t occur to me, I got a chuckle out of this.
But to play devil’s advocate for him, the game’s outlandishly sci-fi, and the actual players typically don’t chat like gun nuts.
- Comment on America 2 months ago:
I remember when I was a kid who joined a mostly American guild with Discord server in Warframe.
I was so confused when I wrote the time in 24h and the guy I was chatting with seemed genuinely uncomfortable with me writing in military jargon.
(He also believed in ghosts and I had trouble explaining the difference between additive and multiplicative multipliers to him)

I’ve been using AMD, so I didn’t know if you can pick DLSS version on something. But then again, I never paid attention to whether I could pick between FSR versions, so AMD could force whatever they want too I guess.

To be fair, if DLSS5 is optional (I hope so), they are asking you if you want the condiment.
The condiment is a shitty mayo, and they did take initative (which an average person will mindlessly accept), but they did ask.
- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 3 months ago:
I’m stupid, doesn’t DLSS and other upscaling tech usually keep the game-generated pixels? So 1/4 pixels is still there going from HD to 4k?
DLSS5 only keeping 1/20 seems to get ridiculous.

- Comment on The developers of PEAK, explaining how they decided on pricing for their game. 4 months ago:
Saying indies are expensive seems wild, but I kind of get it since the Steam Sales on pre-2015 games go hard. And easy piracy of anything up to PS2.
- Comment on My AYN Thor 5 months ago:
I’m considering getting one in a few years once I chew through the 3DS library, and want an upgrade for bus drives. The dual screen might still be useful for browsing guides online and such.
I also never touched the Wii U so there should be some duals screen goodies there to play.
- Comment on All Delisted Steam Games 6 months ago:
It lists reasons, neat. It feels silly Mistover was probably delisted due to Guilty Gear DLC licensing, when the main game’s fine.
- Comment on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 loses Game of the Year from the Indie Game Awards 6 months ago:
For an even more funny example, Devolver digital (who published Enter the Gungeon, Cult of the Lamb, and I think Ball X Pit to name a few) market themselves as “an indie game publisher”. An oxymoron by previous definition, yet most would agree it’s true.
I thought of “not publicly traded” since shareholders usually are the ones to kill creativity, but it turns out DD IS public. And Valve isn’t, so that’d be a bit silly. (Even if I think the game dev part of Valve had/has the indie spirit of “fuck it, we do whatever”)
- Comment on Just released the trailer for my solo horror game where you can pet your cat to restore sanity! It's coming out 2, Feb 2026! Let me know your feedback on the trailer :) 6 months ago:
I’ll be too much of a pussy to play it because jumpscares (even if there only seemed to be 1?) but it does look cool, I don’t know many camera based horror games besides Outlast (which afaik is more action). The bronze statue getting caught in the same position feels overused in the trailer, but it’s the kind of horror my heart could still take at least - I imagine being too late plops a jumpscare though.

- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 7 months ago:
When an aspect of a game is ass (usually grinding, and I tend to be tolerant), even if I try to engage with it. Or if I’m about to drop the game anyway and cheats means seeing an ending. Last time I did was Megaman ZX, the game was already tedious and expects you to then also do a boss rush with limited ways to recover between fights, so I cheated infinite lives to get it over with.
