  This isnt really related but once my sister and I were walking in a strip mall and saw a store that we’ve never been in but had seen a lot of ads for so we popped in to see what was in there and we’re were stopped by a man easily wearing an 8x shirt and probably 50x32 pants. He didn’t really let us a few feet past the door and asked if we needed something. Our response was “we’re just browsing” and he answered, “we probably don’t have anything for you”. We could tell we were wanted so we just left.

  The ginormous pants in this picture reminded me of that story.

  This summer I’m going to try to take my kids to the library at least 3 times a week. It’s free and they could use some practice reading. Not to mention like you said the computers are free to use. Should be a fun time.

  Cover each of the tips of your fingers with a bandaid. It will stop you from biting them. Replace as needed. If you remove the bandaid so you can bite them, you have a psychological issue you need to address, usually stress related.

  Ya this is so convoluted and I feel like there are several jokes that are supposed to be obvious here. Usually the joke in this kind of stuff is the absurdity of the entire thing.

  I actually still have songs in my playlist that I discovered the same way. A lot of the saints were incorrectly labeled so it was hard to make sure you got the right one without listening to it. Found a lot of unknown artists this way.

  This is just my personal opinion and I know the hyper liberal lemmy will hate it but based on the current economic structure, a 4 day work week and extra vacation weeks would probably cost me more money than just working.

  While I’m at work I eat less food, use less utilities and stuff like that. Being home more causes me to spend money that I don’t have. I’m already living paycheck to paycheck working 5 days and barely eating. Having to eat 2-3 meals an extra day per week would be too expensive. An extra day off would just make me get a second job.

  We need to pay people a liveable wage before we can talk about more pto.

  I think people don’t realize that current CEO’s are still old. Many of them in their 50s. I don’t think those are millennials.

  The copium is coming up for excuses for why religious stuff doesn’t make sense. There is no one on the face of the earth that can reconcile passages from religious texts such as these. Sometimes data and dogma can not be reconciled and you just need to take things in faith.

  I think what he’s referring to is much of the Jewish traditions (by other Christian denominations) are deemed unnecessary because Jesus fulfilled the prophecies and therefore “preparation” for his coming is no longer required.

  It’s a little hard to explain but that’s why Christians don’t do any of the dietary restrictions in the old testament.

  I like knowing stuff because I have social anxiety and being able to engage in small talk with people about a wide range of topics is extremely helpful for me.

  I got tested once and the doctor told me testing for herpes is pointless because most everyone has the antibodies in their body due to how common it is. The test gives false positives most of the time.
