- Comment on What can I do with US$10K that is a good investment? 1 month ago:
Don’t disagree about stuffing it in VTI… But, be aware that things can go up and down, so don’t obsess over the value one you put it in. It’s long term so it should go up over long term, but they’re can be months sheets it goes down and even a year where it doesn’t do well

No
- Comment on Should I be worried that my living room windows are fogging up on the outside after the weather got cooler? 2 months ago:
Of on the outdoor side, then nothing, but if it’s double panned and on the inside, then you may have broken seals. Not a problem, just asthetic.

- Comment on Why is the current labour party in the UK considered more center left? Do you think they will pass any policies that are considered left leaning now that they have won the majority? 4 months ago:
Since when do neoliberals “renationalize privatized services”?
- Comment on Are business cards still a thing? 5 months ago:
Yes, and I’m not in Japan. Some people will be surprised about a card because they pay with Apple pay on their phone and think they’re is nothing outside their universe
- Comment on For security reasons 6 months ago:
True, I do find it mildly infuriating that someone is mildly infuriated at this
- Comment on For security reasons 6 months ago:
Security professional here too. Agree that this is reasonable, and making a big deal about it is kinda meh.

- Comment on How do you keep your homes clean? 7 months ago:
Ate there ones that aren’t loud? I work from home and never leave the house, and if robot vacuums are only ever used when you jagger the house, then they aren’t for me
- Comment on How do you keep your homes clean? 7 months ago:
There are robot mops now? Are there any that do not send your house floor plan to the company?
- Comment on Why do people around me tend to increase their responsibility load (i.e. have children, become a manager, do charity, etc.) while I (30M) try to avoid it as much as I can? 7 months ago:
Not too disagree with you, or argue, but in my field your experience is not how it is here. You have to go into management of you want to make more money, and while the work is different, I’m not sure it’s harder

Speaking of that, there was a hacker news feed here on lemmy, but it stopped, anyone know what happened and how to get it back?

- Comment on Am I doing HDR wrong? 11 months ago:
Ask I correct that to get hdr, you need a game that supports it, the option enabled and a display that supports it? Also the oled deck display does not support it
