  For me there what a lot of unusual noise outside my house. I particularly remember waking up once and yelling out to my wife, “is everything ok?” After hearing/dreaming of a very loud clattering. I expect to go outside and see a bulldozer ran through the neighborhood or something. But it was probably just coming from the vally I sit at the top of.

    Waking up from hearing a loud noise could be that you hallucinated the noise. Check our exploding head syndrome (coolest name ever)

      Quite possible. Have been having issues with my ears lately.
