Unironically if I went on a date with someone and they infodumped for 30 minutes about sea monsters on old maps I think I’d fall in love lmao.
Where did I go wrong?

No no no. You need to start by explaining the evolution of mapmaking, before focusing on the monsters.
Not-map people don’t have enough background on maps, so you must provide that first.BooBees@fedinsfw.app 49 minutes ago
She got lucky, clearly her date was actually a sea monster disguised as a human, a clear attempt as using lonely humans as a slightly more ethical food source rather than sailors who might have family at home waiting for their return.

27 minutes? You could cover the main options (Somebody says they saw a monster there, to signal some other danger, or to fill space in uncharted waters) in a few minutes.

Wow, she sounds awesome. Too bad I’m a gay man.
