Unironically its exclusively to look “lean and efficient” to shareholders. You cant have “useless employees” making money when the product is already “finished”
No one in corporate America recognizes the value of a cohesive, well oiled team working a project theyre familiar with

Its the first step in therapy.
Blame parents, forgive parents, realize you now control your future, realize youve controlled your actions and future the entire time, forgive yourself.
Most people are hovering step 1 and 2, or skip over step 2

Wtf. My local store sells 12 packs for $9, $7 on sale
- Comment on An impossible choice 3 days ago:
Exactly. Spending a million every quarter on your local charities/funding public improvement projects/cleaning up public areas/providing public transport funds would do wonders for improving crime rates and improving quality of life around you.
Now repeat for 100x cities. A 7 billionaire can absolutely throw away ~500 million dollars a quarter, live extremely well off 10 million, and pay a guy to invest the rest so you can continue philanthropy.

Fun fact: the store is not going out of business, the furniture supplier is. So like, one brand of couch is on clearance.

Im ngl this is incredibly dumb.
Take the billion, spend the billion. The problem with billionaires is that you must commit terrible acts of violence (human rights violations are violence) to get the billion dollars
In this case you literally just get it. Its a moral billion dollars. Spend on hookers, blow, and public schools (preferably in the opposite order) until you get to about 10 million left and the guillotines are still in storage.

…and this is why roght to repair laws need to be enforced heavily. If your stupid joystick is broken on purpose so you can squeeze $100 out of me every 6 months, i have a right and duty to correct it for myself and anyone who asks.
(But fr tho stop buying nintendo products. They absolutely arent worth the moral weight and consumer disrespect. Pokemon is an incredibly lazy rpg design meant to sell toys)

Shareholders need ever increasing value or they will sell their shares. In the US at least, it is illegal to not provide shareholders with value. The only way to reliably get value is to fuck over your customers at every turn and fire half of your employees every few years

I believe the 2nd part of the post is satire but i agree. The issue is that the more educated you are the more “”" woke brainwashed"“” (read: educated) you become, so conservatives naturally dont like colleges

Take back what is rightfully the American peoples’ money from Elon, Trump, and the rest of his lackies. Use it to subsidize college, housing, and healthcare.

Stimulator, as opposed to simulator is my guess.
Also, 100% agree. If something is so meaningless that you could give it to a robot, just chuck $500 at the nearest idiot with a guitar or throw royalty free classical music or make up some garbage song

- Comment on Housing prices 1 week ago:
Renting out a single family home for longer than 3 months at a time without living in it should be an actual crime, or at least extremely (50-80%) tax heavy (the taxes then going towards house subsidies). Owning an unoccupied home should be taxed even worse. A corporation can count as a single person, so a property management company can own a single house OR as many apartment complexes as they want before tax punishment.
The modern version of Airbnb as a business model (people owning 5+ houses to rent for daily prices often in excess of hotel prices with none of the hotel benefits + “cleaning fees”) should have millionaires hanging from trees.
I foolishly believe the above two policies alone would cut home prices by at least half.
- Comment on Drop your unpopular opinions here because c/unpopularopinions is filled with popular opinions 1 week ago:
Id argue the reactionary part of politics is almost entirely right wing, though.
Most of their policy hinges on owning the libs and subjugating those their church says they should disagree with.
Being reactionary against THAT is more defensive, really. Defensive politics are kind of just politics.
- Comment on law enforcement partners 1 week ago:
Lol. Lmao, even. The hero is needlessly aggressive to a person upholding the social contract. The clapping is coming from inside your head and under your desk.
- Comment on law enforcement partners 1 week ago:
A police offers time is something like 0.001% catching an actual criminal and 99.999% larping military action and harassing/threatening normal people. Sometimes its even misusing public funds to commit murder or stalk their ex. Theyre also much more likely to be domestically abusive.
“All cops are bastards” because the system is broken, allowing most cops to be bastards, and therefore participating in the system (even being a “good cop”) makes you, a bastard.
Am i calling the police if someone breaks into my house? Yes, after ive done all the work of removing the threat so i have a legal standpoint to file insurance claims or whatever. Thats the problem with the system. I cant trust a cop to not consider me to be the real threat or shoot me by accident.
There is no situation made safer by having a racist coward with a license to kill involved.

Tbf I, as a software developer, find inefficient or unoptimized software to be unethical, as it worsens the problem of global warming by wasting electricity.
Take any triple A game, say it could be 20% more optimized with a month in the oven. Say 200,000 people play it for 4+ hours a day, and a patch is made as soon as possible (but the product needed released unoptimized).
We have wasted around 5 million compute-hours, which could be around 400 watts, so ~2 million kwh, or 2 gigawatts of electricity. That amount of electricity equates to about 52,000 gallons of gasoline. Now multiply that by every company that does the same thing, for every release…
