I saw a romcom right after a breakup once. When it got to the oart with the cliche third act breakup, I wanted them to stay broken up. I thought they broke up for sensible reasons and got back together for dumb reasons. I don’t recall what movie it was. I remember a scene with a doctor marking someone’s knee for surgery. It was the year 2015

Who knows. Maybe the same drug sometimes affects the same people differently. I once had severe memory loss after drinking weed soda even though I had had the same product numerous times before without experiencing memory loss

Sounds like it’s fun to be a shrimp
Maybe not though. I suspect I had weed laced with cicaine once and it filled me with such dread I had to turn on all the lights in my apartment and refused to go to bed until after sunrise

An antihero is what we really need at a time like this. While heroes like Captain America and Iron Man debate the ethics of rebelling against a corrupt government, someone like Scarlet Witch or Punisher would get shit done.

As an adult, I fucking hate jokes about child abuse as discipline. On the off chance you seriously literally think you parents would have MURDERED you, seek help

As a child, I had issues with patience. When my mom was talking on the phone and I wanted to talk to her, I’d press the button to hang up. Not as easy to do that with cellphones

Yeah, a lot of things in the Bible probably made more sense for the culture it was written for. Of course the books of the Bible were written over hundreds of years and so culture shifted in that time, explaining some of the contradictions. The reason it doesn’t work very well as a book is there is a lot of background information the writers expected the readers to know that now most people don’t

I read the Bible last year and tried to imagine how it would be perceived if it were any work of fiction. Looking at it just as a fictional book, it’s very poorly written. For one thing, explanations of Jesus sacrifice only come after the fact. A good book would have set it up and explained the necessity of the sacrifice beforehand.

Just different stages of grief. The world is broken. Maybe we can fix some parts of it but nobody is going to singlehandedly fix everything. Trying to fix it is the bargaining stage of grief. Being upset that you can’t do anything is the depression stage. Embracing it is the acceptance stage. Can’t change the world but we can change our attitude.

When greeting strangers, it’s polite to not assume they celebrate Christmas. Just like we should get in the habit of not assuming everyone is straight, white, male, and American

Technically we can’t know for sure everyone alive will die. It’s a reasonable assumption but we won’t know unless we see everyone die. Only the last person alive will know for sure
