I was going to say it can’t be good for you to heat up and breathe through plastic, but shit, it can’t be the worst thing for you in this set up 👍
MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 weeks ago
500 cigs at once and you’re worried about inhaling a little plastic?

I think heroin might legitimately be better for your health
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Breathing through 3D-printed plastic would be bad enough for you without the cigarettes.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.today 3 weeks ago
Eventually the filament will get coated and sealed in a nice, thick layer of tar and protect your lungs from the microplastics!
MrScruff@lemmy.zip 2 weeks ago
True I forgot that printing 3D plastic makes the plastic toxic. 🙄
rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Melted plastic, plastic fumes, and microplastic particles already aren’t great for you, and 3D-printing introduces a bunch of ways for them to be introduced directly into your body.
I worked in the 3D-printing industry for a long time, and I’m confident whoever does my autopsy is going to get a clown-style poof of confetti.

Parallel smoking is much more efficient than serial smoking
Xanthrax@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Put them all backward for maximum plastic consumption
asg101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 weeks ago
Could human lungs even draw that many in?
IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Yes once

Only one way to find out!
cows_are_underrated@feddit.org 2 weeks ago
If your lungs are strong enough and fucked up enough you probably could.
Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
I just smoke one time a year but it nearly kills me.
Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Could someone post the STL file?
MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 weeks ago
Literally just google “500 cigarettes adapter”
Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Well now I’m confused. The second link was to an HDMI connector. My wife says she only does DP. Do I need an HDMI to DP adapter?
bacon_pdp@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Here I was hoping the plans for a 3D metal printer finally came out and people could start 3D printing AR-15 ghost guns.
dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Hope no more, because both things are already quite possible. Metal printing 3D printers are still prohibitively expensive — like, go to your bank and take out a mortgage levels of expensive — but they do indeed exist. And you can print a lower receiver for an Armalite quite easily which is the only serial numbered and tracked component in the US. Upper receivers are available via mail order because they are not the regulated part (except in certain states), so have at it.
You didn’t hear that from me, though.

people could start 3D printing AR-15 ghost guns
I’ve heard from people that they’ve been doing this already, quite successfully, for years.
