As someone happily married, I am rather offended at how incredibly shallow this statement is. My wife is beautiful, inside and out, and someone assuming I would immediately get over it if someone “hotter” replaced her instantly is a horrible statement.

I enjoy shit talking the silent and boomer gens having it easier, but I know I’m wrong. They were raise by people who went thru the cvil war, ww1, and the great depression. There’s a survivorship bias in who you have to hear from, there was the psychological trauma of the constant drum beat of the cold war, the civil rights movement, only being able to live one way. I know they also went thru it, but they are so outsized in their control of the economy and news now I’m just tired of viewing the whole world thru their ancient ass lens.
Maybe our mistake is assuming it’s possible to build a utopia. Maybe every timeline ends is dystopia and the only way for that to not happen is to be satisfied with where we’re at today and halt “progress”
