I was considering it like 10 years ago when you couldn’t go anywhere on the internet without someone telling you “Programmers make a bajillion dollars pr day, even the bad ones! You should become a programmer!!!”, but I figured it was just companies wanting more applicants to force down the pay.

No one has said it’s free. I however have said that running it through taxes with no private doctors or insurance makes it a hell of a lot cheaper, because you cut out a lot of greedy business people whose whole purpose in life is to deny you care.

Your taxes. In no other country does the procedure actually cost 20k. It’s been inflated to ridiculous amounts by the doctors because the insurance pays it.

I’m still not seeing why the extra step of a for profit insurance company is ever needed? All it does is raise prices and make life harder for the people in need. Get rid of it, and your money is spent much more directly without someone denying you medical care because they see you as an expense.
It’s also important to note that my doctor doesn’t charge my government for anything. They employed directly by the government, which means the government is determining what the cost of a procedure is, instead of the doctor. This lowers the price because you cut out another for profit middleman.
This also means my government has that same person with medical knowledge to determine wether or not a procedure is actually necrssary that you’re requesting. The same doctor you visited.
Medical insurance companies and privately owned medical care is ALL just unecessary middlemen that make your life worse. They’re not needed, and needs to be removed entirely.

Does there need to be a system? USA is the only rich country that seems to think so… My doctor doesn’t charge me, they charge the government. Hell, even parking is free.

Why would you want a system that introduces middle men and a need to turn a profit off of your health?

I’m tempted to just straight up use AI without proofreading next time I’m in need of a job. If anything, just to see wether or not it works. Judging by a quick 2 minute look at Linkedin, it must be what they want.

The way it works in Denmark is your boss can demand a doctor’s note from your doctor. They can do this no matter the circumstances, but they’re required to pay for it. I’ve never been asked to get a doctor’s note, but I have also never been untrustworthy enough for a boss to not believe when I say I’m sick.

First off, the safety rules are because people die without them. They’re there for your protection. The price of them is your boss’ problem, not yours, stop worrying on his behalf, you aren’t getting paid to do his job.
Second: You need to be angry at the boss’ instead of the workers. Why do you think they go on break at the exact time? Because if they spend 10 minutes helping you, that’s 10 minutes they can’t eat their lunch, and if they postpone their break 10 minutes, they’ll be written up or fired for not working. The problem is their boss, you’re angry at the abused instead of the abuser.

I’ve been in a lot of hotels everywhere around the world, and have never had anything like that happen. Worst I’ve tried was having to go to the reception to get a hairdryer because they had issues with people stealing them.

- Comment on Nintendo Responds To Tariff Refunds Lawsuit, Tells Customers They "Got What They Bargained For" 3 weeks ago:
Don’t forget that the current refund system wasn’t born out of the benevolence of Valve. It all came from external pressure, mainly from Australia and somewhat EU. Steam never wanted you to be able to refund a game that doesn’t work, they were forced to. And even now they’re trying to hide the ability to refund games as much as possible.

As a european watching that. Wtf is wrong with your country? Should be a fucking crime to try to make people this fucking fearful. This is why people shoot the neighborhood kid for fetching their ball on their lawn, or shooting the person asking for directions, just because they’re black.

- Comment on Why in America is .08 the legal limit for drunk driving? How come it's not an even 0.10? Who decided at what level being drunk starts? Then 4 beers of 12oz's is 0.08 why is it that small? 5 weeks ago:
It’s pretty wild really. In my country, it’s pretty “normal” to drink 2 beers and then drive home. However, if I drink a sip of beer before work, I’d be immediately fired, because it’d be unsafe for me to have any kind of alcohol in my blood.
So we acknowledge that even tiny amounts of alcohol can impair you to the point of being a danger, unless you’re driving a 2 ton heavy machine at 130 km/h on your way home…
- Comment on LinkedIn is the ‘most AI-saturated platform,’ new study suggests 5 weeks ago:
I had to use it a year ago while job hunting after getting my degree. The absolute vomit inducing bullshit on there is baffling. I saw posts from students circlejerking about projects they’d done, making them sound completely groundbreaking while barely getting a passing grade, all completely written by AI. It was always just a way to masturbate your ego, but now you’re not even supposed to do the masturbation yourself, you just get an AI to do everything for you, completely blowing up mediocrity to sound like genius.
I don’t get the point of the site anymore. Literally nothing posted there is genuine. If anything, it just shows recruiters how utterly incompetent and braindead the person is.

Sure, but why? What is the point in wearing decent clothes when other clothes are often quite a lot more comfortable. I’m not here to impress people with my clothes, I’m here to get on with my day/holiday/escort, not brighten some hotel lobby with an expensive suit.
- Comment on This guy managed the movie theater I worked at in high school. 1 month ago:
But why would you dress fancy for a hotel? Most of the time it’s just less comfortable than jeans and a t-shirt. Not to mention the cost of dressing fancy.
