a) It is entertaining because it reflects reality
b) They don’t because if they were I couldn’t assume that most parents would assume that their children will become capable of doing chores.
Sounds like sealioning to me.
Maybe. I just wanted to see if you had put some thoughts to it.

Most parents think so and yet the meme is upvoted. What gives you the confidence that she will be capable?

How will your daughter do the chores once she lives alone and you are not around?
- Comment on Why does China have so many multi billionaires if they are aiming to be a communist country? 2 days ago:
Rampant capitalism won’t save them there.
That’s why they have an advantage over the west. They can put a limit to the Capitalism.

Compare China to other countries that were poor in the 1970ies and China becomes impressive.
The USSR tried without billionaires and they are gone.
Europe has good healthcare because we had to look good compared to eastern Europe. We are cutting costs and in 10 years we likely will be much closer to the US system.

Jesus can’t do much if the rich kids don’t share their food with the poor kids but mock them instead.
If the state feeds the student the next generation will demand that the people in need will be fed, too. Without lunch, the rich have learned to look away.

The EU is a trap. Once Russia and China are destroyed, the western Elite will also treat the average citizens like they treat Africans and third world Asians. The elite is only good to people they need and once they control everything they need nobody to fight for them.

Is this true? How do people vote for parties that don’t change it?
- Comment on Why does China have so many multi billionaires if they are aiming to be a communist country? 1 week ago:
They are not treated like Iraq or Iran. That alone is a success, for every citizen.
The difference to the West is that the party stands above the billionaires. That means they have working healthcare despite billionaires.
- Comment on Why does China have so many multi billionaires if they are aiming to be a communist country? 1 week ago:
They don’t want to be dominated by the West. Propping up the West makes the West dependent. Still, China could stop propping at any time.
- Comment on Why does China have so many multi billionaires if they are aiming to be a communist country? 1 week ago:
this proves they can become independent
Technically the variety of Chinese businesses proofs that and not the amount of wealth.
Also, what you describe is not capitalism, it is fascism (state and corporate merger on policy) The answer is China has many fascist qualities
I wanted to say that in China the party holds the power and not the billionaires. Though nowadays billionaires can become members and corruption has given party members billions.

IMHO China is a more capitalist country than the USA. 12h workdays 6 days a week
Communism doesn’t mean that everybody can slack off. If people don’t work enough it’s difficult for them to catch up with Capitalism, like USSR and Eastern Europe have shown.
All that work has paid off for China. Unlike any other country they have a shot at being independent from the West.
Capitalism means that the people who control the means of production also control politics. That’s not true in China, so that people there can hope for a better life despite AI and robots.

I am not aware that Stalin had planned to extinguish entire races. Stalin did some genociding but no final genociding. There is no question which country I would choose as a minority.

I totally agree.
Alternately, we need a vehicle that can go around all of the above. What does that look like? I don’t know. Alternate media like print perhaps? Or maybe just an outrageously good youtube channel? Pooling some cash and buying advertising space? Anything would be better than nothing.
This is a valuable idea. How can we grow it?
- Comment on When do we riot? 1 week ago:
Then we have to keep thinking. It’s worth finding a way to overcome corruption and other obstacles to transform in years and not decades.

Kind of true, but industries are working to slow the transition down like working against modernising the electric grid.
This is what “best effort” gets us right now.
So it’s time for best effort, without quotation marks.

There are wait times and a tendency to turn healthcare private by making the public option not good enough. Enough countries are on their way to copy the US.
The big problem is that the prices are decoupled from the costs. The US healthcare system would be affordable if insurance companies couldn’t negotiate for their own rates.
