There is no way they were the first vegans in 2016. There have been 100+ ascents per year
After her death a vegan among them would have spoken out. Could be that they all tried Yak butter and can’t claim the title anymore.

Why are you so sure, and why are you so keen on shielding Microsoft
I am not sure. That’s why I told you that I am uninformed.
The question is if all billionaires are lazy ticks. MS and Ubisoft seem to be run like that. But even for them, we can’t be sure. The billionaires don’t reveal the real motives. Maybe the closing of the studio bancrupted a millionaire that Bill Gates did as a favor for another billionaire. It’s impossible to know.
But some billionaires can be stupid. We need proof that all of them are to believe that Trump tricked them. Otherwise it’s more likely that they are tricking us with Trump.
I’m talking about the fect that they force their coders to use ai, and this practice introduced so many bugs in production code,
China will run circles around the US if the US doesn’t get AI running soon. To me it doesn’t seem to be a business decision but a service for the entire elite to create training data.

laying off a studio
I am not informed enough about the market to make an informed guess. The game may take away mindshare from another game that is strategically more important.
breaking your flagship product
MS has embedded internet explorer into their os to justify bundling it. The quality of their OS is not their primary goal.
With AI they have justified the need to record more data. That alone could be reason enough.

If the mistakes appear to be systematic they can be intentional to achieve other goals.

but those mistaces appear to be systematic,
Which other systemic goals could they have?

because it’s kust that more easier to breed money when you already have so much.
Warren Buffett says no. To invest billions is more difficult because high growths opportunities with high margins rarely exist in that price range.
Case in point — corpos like Microsoft and Ubisoft.
Are they stupid or do they optimize for different constraints? MS could have introduced AI for surveillance and not for growth.
So when the crisis finally comes, you won’t be able to properly analyze the situation.
I can’t disprove this. However I think that some are intelligent enough and with billions at their disposal they could make themselves heard.

It’s enough that 10 billionaires understand the development to convince the rest.
They think about power all day long. They will notice if they lose it.
- Comment on Art of the deal.. 6 days ago:
A nice thought but they won’t be that stupid.

Why do US billionaires accept the end of the hegemony? Trump can’t act against their plans or he would be impeached.

GLP-1, omezpic, and WEGOVY also is a threat to alcohol industry.
Why? Do thin people not drink?

not a single right you have that wasn’t won via violence.
Same sex marriage. Transgender rights.
Could make you wonder how much power the elite had to shed for those.

It’s essentially the same.
They even have it pre-made.

That’s why toast with crisps is the more popular food.

Looking at history, it’s equally ridiculous in real life. People do meaningless jobs, are a dead soldier or have no jobs at all because their boss wanted a boat or they live on land that happens to have oil or is of strategic importance.
- Comment on Teach me 2 weeks ago:
It takes a lot more exercize to burn food off than people think, especially to burn fat off.
It’s not necessarily the intensity but the duration. The exercise must be long enough that fat is metabolized.
Depending on several factors, there can be a 10–20 min period of time after the onset of exercise until fat metabolism can catch up with carbohydrate metabolism.

It’s not just that they don’t know. They’re willfully ignorant. People have some kind of consumer brainrot.
The same media is sent to all people in the west. The US is just some years ahead.

That more equitable system doesn’t come from nothing. Without preparation it will be like the end of the Roman empire, when local warlords, called knights, were organising the retirement plans for the peasants.
- Comment on What a great idea 3 weeks ago:
I don’t think that. I think that a good society comes from interacting with people and helping them develop. There is no need for separate spaces if people teach each other how to use credit cards or how to pack bags efficiently.

For a place as left as Lemmy, the idea of shopping without disturbing people is surprisingly popular.
It’s like Socialism, don’t call it by its name and everybody likes it.
- Comment on If the protests in Iran win/topple the government what will it look like immediately afterwards? Also what would be the good or bad about installing a monarchy again? 4 weeks ago:
My guess is that it is about establishing this supply line for a war with China and Russia.
en.wikipedia.org/…/Anglo-Soviet_invasion_of_Iran
I can’t imagine that the protests succeed. If they do there would be a power vacuum which should allow for the independence of the Kurdish and Azerbaijani regions and maybe also of smaller regions of other minorities. Contested land, e.g. with Qatar or Iraq could also be taken.

We have to know if we have to change our lives or those of the 1,000 billionaires.
It would be easy to change our lives but it becomes difficult if we wait for the billionaires to change instead.

Wealth distribution pyramid has $100,000 as limit to top 7.7%.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distribution_of_wealth
So $90,000 could be the cutoff.
Of course students don’t have that. However I would include anybody into the top 10% who will own $100,000 at one point in their life which should be anybody with real estate or a private pension plan in the West.
