That actually sounds like a sane feature the lemmyverse should provide. I also don’t like some instances and come communities, because they are led by extremists, but for that I can just block them on my client. However, I believe it would be nice to have community manage lists.

But why hide it? Why even go that far to load it at runtime, so that it is not visible in the source code? And why hiding a DDOS script, targeting one instance, while saying they are the “normal one”?

Not entirely, as the amount of content you receive changes, too. It is hard to accurately measure “value”, but it is another factor besides just the economical performance.

I guess it depends on where you live. I could imagine that in the US, you as an individual get way less protection than corporations. Where I live, spreading around that you are a criminal, would be itself a criminal offense, unless you are a person of public interest.
Criminal records have to be provided voluntarily and may not be asked for, if not strictly necessary.
