the thing is, there’s nothing stopping you from making that a reality

I appreciate the summary and I think i get why people like sports ball… but I really enjoy having a sports ball free space to talk about how absurd it is the way our society obsesses over it. on the internet, you’re the weirdo, not me!
- Comment on Can't argue that. 1 week ago:
well it convinced me, but I’m stupid and already made up my mind that I wanted to see a reply like that

younger partners are easier to control.
and less worldly experience means they won’t notice their dull personality.
lack of maturity and life milestones to date similar age ranges.
over emphasis on bodily needs.
and i repeat, control.
- Comment on Why is the human body so incredibly bad at responding to colds? 1 week ago:
bad at it? you literally rest for a week then recover, as opposed to dying. your pretty fucking good at it. you just don’t know how bad it could be

I love Chinese four letter aphorisms and I’m glad you shared this one but i dont think this really answers the when or the why 😛

I remember learning that searing actually doesn’t trap in juices. it’s only value is in the maillard reaction and is best done at the end of cooking as a reverse sear

- Comment on Anon thinks there is a bicurious double standard 1 month ago:
it read like this: “to be fair, sometimes hitting your spouse is justified. after all you can’t have them talking back to you, right? wait, what, you think I’m talking about my own experiences and perspective?”
like, yes dude, I dont even know you beyond the things you shared. as far as I’m aware, your entire existence is what you said, and the person behind the screen is kind of irrelevant.
not dating someone bi because of STI risk is ignorant and bigoted. I get that it’s a perspective. it’s a shitty misinformed one. no need to explain it here unless you’re advocating for it. jealousy is equally shitty. it’s controlling. essentially what the perspective says is that bi people are harder to control.
i get the desire to understand the mind of hatred… but as they say, maybe not every time we see a literal devil we should think “hey that guy could use an advocate!”
- Comment on If I stood on a precision scale and farted, would I get lighter or heavier? 1 month ago:
if you put an empty balloon on a scale and then fill it up while it sits on there, would it get heavier or lighter?
it would press on the scale less but it’s mass would increase
- Comment on If there's a sort of "apocalyptic" event but there are still surviving communities, will people be able to make eyeglasses again, or are people with vision issues gonna be fucked? 1 month ago:

crisis counseling is really fun. had to do a course on it in grad school. there’s a whole ad hoc assessment process where you’re monitoring everyone at the shelter and a whole triage process for who to give what services to.
very fulfilling work for people who like chaos, esp all you ADHD brains who can’t focus until someone’s missing a fucking arm
