I enjoy shit talking the silent and boomer gens having it easier, but I know I’m wrong. They were raise by people who went thru the cvil war, ww1, and the great depression. There’s a survivorship bias in who you have to hear from, there was the psychological trauma of the constant drum beat of the cold war, the civil rights movement, only being able to live one way. I know they also went thru it, but they are so outsized in their control of the economy and news now I’m just tired of viewing the whole world thru their ancient ass lens.
- Comment on I just watched the wrong version of Drive (2011), and didn't realize until the last 10 minutes. Any similar stories? 8 months ago:
Crash. In high school my buddy brought out all the weird horror and b-movies he could find, including crash, a movie about people who get busy after dangerous or injurious automobile incidents. Cut to a few years later, when my friend’s parents are telling me a how they thought crash was so powerful and everyone should see it, and how it was nominated for a bunch of oscars, I was completely perplexed.
