If it gets too cold I can bundle up. If it gets too hot theres only so many clothes I can take off before that bitch Brenda goes to H.R.

See, my problem is that being too hot is just uncomfortable to me but being too cold is physically painful no matter how many layers I put on.
Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 3 hours ago
I have touch sensitivity, so I don’t like to bundle up. I’d rather just work naked from home.
StillAlive@piefed.world 11 hours ago
Fuck Brenda.
reseller_pledge609@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 hours ago
I mean, I’d rather not.
CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today 2 hours ago
I wish USA would go metric so I could instinctively understand what 45⁰C is without consulting a conversion calculator. I’m guessing 45⁰C is 90-100F? BRB lemme verify …
jayands@lemmy.world 1 hour ago
What I did, was I just switched my phone’s weather app to Celsius and spent a year walking outside to work. It rewires your sense of temperature.
CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today 1 hour ago
That sounds like a great idea! Then I remembered the reality of how I use my weather app. I use it when I’m too lazy to go outside to check the temperature IRL 😂
doingthestuff@lemy.lol 2 hours ago
Nah, we can adopt metric but I’ll never quit using Fahrenheit.
JustPlainDave@lemmy.zip 4 hours ago
Don’t have to shovel heat.
Statick@programming.dev 4 hours ago
Don’t have to mow, rake, weed whack, or trim the cold
ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world 3 hours ago
That’s because everything is dead and brown. I’ll take the yard work in the heat for the green.
BCsven@lemmy.ca 4 hours ago
We’ve had those temps, and sweating all day with AC unit running sucks. I’d much rather put on a sweater if I feel chilly in the Winter.
PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
It doesn’t typically snow enough to shovel where I live
Stolas@lemmy.ca 2 hours ago
Sadly we might not have too many years left of this debate.
chunes@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
Winter can suck my dick. Getting through winter with myotonia sucks ass
Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 5 hours ago
I can put on 3 layers of clothes but i cannot take off my skin to get cooler
It’s also easier to add heat in a room than to remove it in my exp
hansolo@lemmy.today 3 hours ago
This is only how a cold weather person thinks about heat. That’s not how real life works.
One light layer of linen is amazing. Your body does the work on its own. Touregs in the Sahara wear a light layer of light fabric. Look at Saudis and the traditional outfit. Italy in the summer. All similar. All perfectly comfortable.

Italy in the summer
Sir i am Italian
thermal_shock@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
“Can only get so naked” is my go to also
Shanmugha@lemmy.world 3 hours ago
I am still on summer side. But if one happens to want to die and chooses between heat and cold, then cold is the better option
binarytobis@lemmy.world 2 hours ago
OK, but who is this guy and why do I keep seeing him?
nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 hours ago
It’s this guy, and it’s just that i found a few memes with his face, so I have been posting it
OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 1 hour ago
I love the Indian representation :) also nutbutter is cool cuz they like Twin Peaks too :)
doingthestuff@lemy.lol 2 hours ago
I love camping in the snow. I hate camping in the heat.
tomi000@lemmy.world 8 hours ago
When its 0°K and some mf says winter is better than summer.
Coolcoder360@lemmy.world 7 hours ago
At least then it’s still OK.
chiliedogg@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
I can always put on another layer. I can only get so naked.
hOrni@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Two words. Seasonal depression. You don’t get that in the summer.
Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 5 hours ago
You don’t get that in the summer.
I get it only in summer
rockerface@lemmy.cafe 10 hours ago
If you don’t have an AC, you very much do
NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 6 hours ago
The sunlight makes up for it. Having like 6 hours of real sunlight fucking sucks. I also hate having to put on like six layers to take out the garbage without having the air hurt my skin
wookiepedia@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
Come live in the hellscape of Texas. You cannot go outside from late may until mid October. It was 103F+ from mid July until 3 days ago. I paid almost $700 for my electric bill last month. The house is stale and hasn’t had fresh air in months. I have a huge list of projects that I very much want to make progress on, but ten minutes outside takes me multiple hours to recover from. The temperature in the parking lot in front of the grocery store was above 120F a few days ago.
Seasonal depression occurs in the cursed summer here. As soon as my family members pass on, I will never return to this god forsaken, scorched wasteland.
hOrni@lemmy.world 2 hours ago
Well then I invite You to Poland, where besides 3 months of summer everything is gray, cold and damp. The grass is always greener I guess.
CuddlyCassowary@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
I am thoroughly depressed all summer. The first cooler, shorter day I’m like a happy new person. I’m a redhead and can easily get sick being in the sun. Fuck summer, bring on the cooler, shorter, stormier days and I’m all in for snowball fights, sledding, soups, sweaters, cozy fires, and a good scotch.
dismay3915@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
I stand by it. Summer IS better than winter
nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 9 hours ago
What do you like about summers?
xylol@leminal.space 7 hours ago
Sitting on a patio drinking beers
NotSteve_@lemmy.ca 6 hours ago
Seeing the sun, not having the air be so cold that any exposed skin hurts, air that isn’t so dry I feel like I’m suffocating, grocery runs not feeling like a trek through the Antarctic
dismay3915@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
No flu, no sickness (maybe once), no runny nose, no stiff joints, wanting to actually do stuff, having more productive time to do stuff, being able to go into nature and hang out all the time.
Winters are absolutely depressing and miserable.
RBWells@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
I just really hate cold weather and short days. My body is better at staying cool than warm. When you ask people what they like about winter they always say sweaters and fires, being warm. I like doing that without gear.
cinoreus@lemmy.world 3 hours ago
What’s with this guy suddenly showing up on all Lemmy meme communities?
nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 hours ago
general_kitten@sopuli.xyz 4 hours ago
early-mid fall is the best season, not too hot or cold
9point6@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
Autumn and spring are better than both. Both of the extremes are getting less fun every year.
I don’t like it when it’s so hot I want to take off my skin
I also don’t like it when it’s so cold I have to somehow instantly magic another 4 layers on/off me when walking through a door to not freeze/sweat to death.
Give me comfortable 2 layer weather where I can wear the same thing indoors and outdoors and feel fine
VeganBtw@piefed.social 8 hours ago
Yes, and if there was a way to magically make seasonal allergies go away for good, I’d get a couple more months of comfort every year.
rainbowbunny@slrpnk.net 5 hours ago
Allergy shots
AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 9 hours ago
Technically people should hate me most cause i offend everyone. I like very continental climates so both hot summers and cold winters, i just like seeing the seasons and the smell in the air change, having a dip in a cold lake or sea during summer, having the perfect weather for outdoor activites during fall, being able to ski, build snowmen, chill inside during winter, etc. I know i have bias cause i was born somewhere where the climate is like this but i just love it. Everyone has their preferences.
DmMacniel@feddit.org 11 hours ago
You can put on more clothes to mitigate a cold winter, but can you put off more clothes in summer when you are already bare naked? No… Winter wins!
imetators@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 hours ago
Until its -45C in winter. Then you change your opinion at an instant.
danekrae@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
My stats for number of activities in cycling and running gives away my preference, but the winters gets rough in Scandinavia.
remon@ani.social 10 hours ago
I am starting to come around on this one, winter is getting better an better. We hardly have snow any more!
CrazyLikeGollum@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
In an ideal world 65F or 18C would be a once in an absolutely never heatwave.
Return_of_Chippy@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
Idk 45 seems pretty chilly
twinnie@feddit.uk 11 hours ago
The hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth is like 56.
tomi000@lemmy.world 8 hours ago
Dont engage. Chippy is a well known ragebaiter
Return_of_Chippy@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Nah, its hotter than that rn bud.
DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
It’s not one thing, it’s multiple things together.
Cold is okay alone, but add wind and/or rain and cold sucks.
Heat is okay without humidity, and as long as it still gets cool at night for a break. Heat with wind and/or rain is okay, but heat with wind and dust sucks. Dust always sucks.
remotedev@lemmy.ca 2 hours ago
Someone’s never been where it gets -40
PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 hours ago
It’s coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere
