I also have a house built in the 1980s. In the former Soviet Union. Building code wasn’t really a thing for single family homes, so obviously we don’t have a hood. Or even anywhere to connect the hood so it could vent outside.
I currebtly reside in a yugoslavian 1960s built house so yeah I get you. Except it does have a hole for the hold it just is not cpnnected because the apartment owner decided to put the stove in a different spot when renovating the kitchen…

Gas also sends most of the energy from burning straight into the air so you heat the kitchen more than heating the food

Many techniques can be replicated on an induction stove mainly because induction is way better at heating the pans than gas is. Unless you have a really strong industrial gas stove you are jot getting any benefits pf gas over induction anyway.
And this post is not erasing your culture/ cuisine so stop playing the victim and keep using whatever you want. I honestly don’t care if you cook on a campfire inside your kitchen if that is what you prefer or the specific dish requires.
But the point stands that for most people and most applications in cooking induction just is the best.

Well you need a really strong stir fry rated burner if you want that. 99% of people that have gas stoves do not have one that can do that. You ain’t stir frying shit on this kind of gas stove believe me.

Well if you have really old cookware that does not work on induction it’s probably already time to replace it. Cast iron and quality stuff you would want to keep should work on induction.

Break the gad one so it looks like it failed on its own. Then convince the landlord that longterm the induction is better and he should install that. You can get them for quite cheap nowadays.
