- Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 1 day ago:
It’s a double dipping technique.
First all players are hyped for GTA6, some even buying a console to experience it on launch day.
Then the PC release get’s out 1-2 years later and everyone with a capable rig know it will run better there and buy it again.Assuming it will be a 80€ game, they now made 160€ in revenue instead of 80.

Sounds like the writer confused Mbps with MB/s or something.
But even then it’s kinda weird. - Comment on Firefox could be doomed without Google search deal, says executive 3 days ago:

^*^not necessarily true for podcasts, in which the podcaster could have ads baked into the recording.
Actually not.
I like listening to the WAN show podcast from LTT. Amd as most here prpbably know they are very keen on monetizing a lot on their content.
As it turns out Spotify has different settings between podcasts and music. And they offer the creators to enable ads (even for premium subs) inbetween podcast episodes.
So if you queue the LTT-podcast after a regular song, you can get advertisements before and after an episode.
You can scrub through or skip the ad but it requires manual interaction to do so. And hot keys like on (BT-)headsets don’t work.I confirmed their existence with the Spotify support

We might get…
Very good graphics
A solid driving KI (that wont crash into you on purpose)
Interesting environmentAt that point only the story can make the difference and that is just at random.

My thumb of rule for anything announced by AAA-studios: Release date + 1 year.
And it almost never went wrong.
And for R*: Announced + 1 year extension + 1-2 years for PC release - Comment on Grand Theft Auto VI is Now Coming May 26, 2026 - Rockstar Games 5 days ago:

I did that at my friends place: Worked very good. Screen was turned off and connected my xbox controller.
Minor nitpick: If it’s connected via a powered dock they should circumvent the battery.

Fuck the US for inflicting this on the rest of the world.
At least the ones that voted the orange guy. - Comment on 8BitDo no longer shipping to US from China due to Trump tariffs 6 days ago:
To be fair: They are probably not working with a lot of margin and shipping it bavk to china is costly for them.
If I buy on AliExpress I am under the impression of it either fits or needs to be trashed. But returning is very unlikely.
And 8bitdo is (when not being sold by a 3rd party like for example microcenter) just another chinese seller/manufacturer on AliExpress or Amazon^(which is just a chinese shipping proxy with some local sellers nowadays) - Submitted 6 days ago to videos@lemmy.world | 0 comments

Can confirm.
When Icommuted by bus without doing any activity outside of walking and then needed to sprint (+ fully packed backpack) to get the bus, I’d be floored once reached.
Nowadays by riding bike to work, I get my regular workout and improve my fitness (for the frail future of my senior body) - Comment on Study Finds Biking to Work HALVES Risk of Early Death | Berm Peak 4 weeks ago:
Due to exercise or due to the way other drivers behave in traffic? :p
Does it take into account the number of exhaust fumes bikers may breathe in? Because my bike commute is 30% near a slow moving high traffic street. So plenty of time to breathe in some lovely exhaust fumes.

Already fiddling around enough with tge stuff I do with my PC which I installed Win11 on and I am in the EU meaning less BS than the US version (no forced upgrades, no ads (as described by US citizens) and so on).
I use Debian on my server as it’s a tool. Same for my pc. And I have a steamdeck.
And every tool has it’s worth no matter if it’s made from shitty chinesium or baller titanium.
I like the way Windows handles most things and I prefer it over having to fiddle with the way every Linux distro does it’s own thing (and I will never use Ubuntu). - Comment on How's them tariffs going 4 weeks ago:
It will. And those that knew what they were doing behind the scenes before the public knew probably pulled out way before the market saw what would happen.
Now they will have a feast while the normal joe has a crashed portfolio because it’s not their day job to manage a stock portfolio.
