If you’re interested in 2048 strategy, there is a Competitive 2048 Discord Server.
Clarifying it was without undos implies there are people that can’t max that game with undos. Are there people like that?
Very probably me, I don’t get the game.
With undo you can simply play the RNG for ideal pieces. That along with only swipping right and down will eventually get you a perfect game.
Right and down? I think you mean left and down!
Dang, I thought where place the new tile spawns was deterministic. May as well add an infinite re-roll button to the game if that is allowed.
Bro, some people have things to do in the day.
I honestly thought that once you got “2048” you won and the game ended. Obviously I never have gotten that far…
I got to 32768 a long time ago and figured that was as high as you could go.
Didn’t know it was a competitive game.
Everything can be turned competitive lol.
My post got 18 upvotes and yours only got 8, so therefore I beat you at this lemmy game!
Though maybe with lemmy, the only winning move is not to play…
Competitive dota is better.

I use this version, no permissions necessary.
2048verse.com is where this game was played. It doesn’t store any information if you play as a guest, and the only personal info it stores if you make an account is your IP to avoid alt accounts. You can even sign up without an email.
Source: I made the site
Oh, nice! Good to know, thank you!
But it’s almost 9MB in size. What’s in it?
Check source files on GH, idk.
Nice! The highest I’ve ever gotten is only a 16k and an 8k.
Was it validated somehow?
The website the run was played on (2048verse.com) has replays that show every move with timing. We can compare the moves against move tables to try to see whether one was used and check the move times for any suspicious patterns.
Of course, the system isn’t foolproof, and there’s always a chance players could be using tables very conservatively. With all the information we have gathered, however, have no reason to suspect P-Shiyi592’s score.
If you’re interested in seeing the replay, you can join the Discord or just DM me on Lemmy and I’ll send you the replay code.
Neat, thanks.
I mean…undo’s seem like less of a cheat than having an Al pay the whole game 🤷
This was played by a human, see my other comment for how we try to validate this.
My bad. In my defense, P-shiyi592 sounds very much like the name of an Al agent 😂
Pay the game?
In this economy??
Default coloring follows the original 2048 (classic.play2048.co). The website it was played on is 2048verse.com

How can the 2048 world record be broken when we’re only in 2026? /s
