My text booked were always brown though. Because they were wrapped in paper bags.
- Comment on The PlayStation 2 1 week ago:
Bought a PS 2, Gran Turismo 4 and the GT4 Logitech steering wheel and pedals when I graduated college.
Just dug it all out to show my 6 year old how fun driving can be. Looked better than I expected even with component cables.

I don’t know if you’ve already tried this, but I’ve had weird behavior with older Pi3s when the power supplies weren’t up to snuff.
A good 5V/10A (yeah I know they only need 5A) sorted out one of mine that had a heavy load of Neopixels running on it, even though the neopixels had their own 5V supply.
I haven’t needed to get a Pi5 for any of my projects and really use them as big arduinos in certain uses (better for camera detection and remote reprogramming).

Chickens love spicy food, and their rags supposedly taste better when they have it in their diet.
Guinea Hens and spicy peppers both come from the same part of the world too I believe.

My great aunt put them on a bed of lettuce with a layer or cottage cheese.
We didn’t touch them either and always laughed at calling them salads too.

Wouldn’t it make it seem like a bigger place?
- Comment on bath time 3 weeks ago:
It’s got a British plug so it’s at least 200 volts.
But yeah, probably ok if the water isn’t too salty and you stay away from touching the electrodes.
I’m still not getting in with one though. At over 6 feet, I take up the whole tub + most of the time anyway.

So I grew up in the Midwes, then move to New England and there, everyone called Bavarian cream donuts, Boston cream donuts.
After looking it up, turns out the first Bavarian cream recipes in the US were found in the Boston School cookbooks.
- Comment on space 4 weeks ago:
Or maybe the time travel happens by warping space in the first place (since you need to somehow overcome the speed of light problems anyway). Seems like a good job for a wormhole if someone wanted to write around the space/time/motion rules.

They did sorta start the mega corporation, and speculative trading. Both of which kinda ruined the world (assuming capitalism isn’t necessary for innovation, which I think probably true).

They used to sell little disposable kegs of Heineken I think.
But box beer should really be and box of cans over 12. Like those 30 packs of Bud Lite.

Maybe not after cooking? How would they get to shrimp-like texture otherwise?
Unless they mean shrimp-like with the shell still on, which is silly.

Yeah, actually seems like a fair bit of the people that build things for NASA live in the Deep South. And plenty of them I’m sure come up rooting for the wrong side of the Mason Dixon.
- Comment on Nobody gets to tell me what to do! 5 weeks ago:
I think they were talking about Werner Von Braun. Who was an actual Nazi designer of the V2 rocket I think. And led our early space efforts.

Square (Robertson) drives are actually great too. Better than Hex/Allen, but Torx is the most reliable, and the most German. Phillips can take a long walk off a short pier.
- Comment on Are there any good, apolitical right-leaning podcasts out there? 1 month ago:
Sounds like too may only be listening to news shows.
Fresh Air, This American Life, Car Talk, Something Wild are all largely non-political, but many cover liberal topics, but not from a political standpoint.
They also tend to cover factual stories about science and the environment, which— unfortunately for the right—tends to involve topics that the right wing have made political.

Extreme compression relief, makes starting it easier.
Did the cylinder really seize and get pushed away from the block? That must be exciting to hear/see.
- Comment on What would be a good glue to repair this spatula with that wont he toxic or come undone in a dishwasher? 2 months ago:
It got slightly melted along the leading edge once, so I trimmed/files it back to make it chamfered again.
I’m sure it sheds some microplastics, like pretty much everything, but I prefer a little of the spatula, to scraping the nonstick ceramics.
We really only use this with a couple pans, and use metal in our cast iron, though one of our favorite metal spatulas has a plastic handle that’s been melted dozens of times from resting on the rim of the pan.

- Comment on What would be a good glue to repair this spatula with that wont he toxic or come undone in a dishwasher? 2 months ago:
Not great for ceramic coatings though.
Ours is like this and is at least 12 years old. I believe the plastic is over molded directly onto metal handle which sits about 1.5 cm into the plastic.
- Comment on Plastic tea bags 2 months ago:
Bigalow has paper bags, the only annoyance is that they come in individual wrappers made of paper/foil/(possibly plastic lining?).
Lipton came in paper pouches wrapped in paper last time I saw one.
