  Hah in CS I played a lot of the Jailbreak mod. Actually played a bit in CSGO but it wasn’t the same. I actually didn’t look into Dark Age until you brought it up but it does look like they got the message that the finishing moves and walking through a map weren’t exactly everyone’s favorite concepts. I’ll probably get it when it’s on sale, it looks a lot more fast paced. I might be a minority on this but I miss the faster paced games like Painkiller and well UT2003 on double speed and double damage.

  I think part of the reason it was highly praised was because I imagine it was a lot of peoples first Doom game. Like Doom 2016 and Doom 3, it was also something a bit different.

  I didn’t like the scarcity of ammo and constantly have to see and hear the stupid chainsaw. And the cinematic kills everything got really annoying as well. The level design was okay, but felt very restricted compared to Doom 2016, also invisible walls. It felt slow and I didn’t care for the jumping mechanics, what is this Super Mario? I didn’t make it to playing it two hours since I returned it, I’m sure it probably got better but I didn’t feel like playing it.

  I know, I help when I can. Part of why I carry an AFAK to work, had a coworker step on a nail. He didn’t notice because he’s diabetic. I noticed bloody shoe prints everywhere, at least the first aid kit had homeostatic powder. He was good enough to go home with a wrap. While he didn’t panic, I know there are plenty of people that would.

  What grinds my gears is when a game ends up not what you expected. One of the only games I returned was Doom Eternal, I bought it and hated it and this is from someone who’s played all the doom games and even made maps for fun. I got it again for a dollar off of humble bundle and I will probably never play it.

  Same goes for The Outer Worlds. I was excited about it. The whole epic launcher thing saved me the full price. Got it years later with all the dlc for $1. Played it and found it to not be as fun as I thought it was going to be.

  This is an interesting one.

  I applaud your mom for helping, she must be prepared at all times? I mean I carry an AFAK (Advanced Individual First Aid Kit) to work or to the range for example. But I would be totally useless in a traffic accident. Like okay, maybe I can tourniquet a limb, put a splint on (high risk), or use a homeostatic bandage and maybe that will get you by until EMS shows up. Really, unless you know exactly what you’re doing, you could kill someone.

  And your sister is completely correct. You don’t have to be right to sue someone, odds are it’s a wasted expense on both parties. Anecdotally, when my sister got into a car accident with my car, the stupid cunt my sister had ran into had the gall to try and sue my mom as well as myself. They couldn’t get to me at all, I was 2000 miles away. If only I had my personal attorney that I do today, I would have sued right back.

  It depends on what kind of a nurse your sister is. Not all nurses have the same experiences and well it could traumatize them for life. I would trust a combat medic over most nurses. I mean I had a nurse that fucked up an IV 4 times before I told him hey do it like this, I need to be mobile, tape here, tape there. My mom was a head nurse, and when she had surgery it was funny to hear how many times she had to correct the nurses.

  Another thing is your mom might have the eye of who’s viable and who’s a casualty. And that’s a hard thing to accept. I mean going home one time, I saw a guy on the road from a motorcycle crash and people trying to help him. He’s screaming in agony, blood is everywhere. No helmet. Think, a peak time parking lot of cars you see in California traffic surrounding the area. I was like, yeah he’s dead, I think I saw it the news actually creepy. At least my brain mostly blocked out that one except the screams.

  So yeah, your sister might not want to experience that nor has the confidence to mend a situation like that.

  Well I lived in different states for the first two. Moved back to be close to family and started doing espresso repair since it was easy to learn; the downside is after a decade, my hands are in rough condition my back is in pretty bad condition. So I figured it’s time to try something else.

  To add insult to injury; I dropped out of college twice. I still don’t have a degree, actually going back to try to get one or rather be a career student lol. But somehow I worked in education, managed a company of 300+, and spent the last 10 years repairing 10k-40k espresso machines. I guess I just was in the right place and the right time.

  And of course a coffee chain called “A Twosome Place” heh I mean at this point I get something was lost in translation, I’m sure they meant a place for two or a place for couples. This wasn’t the first thought I had when it was next to the love hotel I was staying (it’s cheaper than a regular hotel, but the tv had a call option or pink or blue lol).

  It totally is, watching those videos of school lunches in other countries. I can’t say I wasn’t jealous. I think the other aspect is that maybe the intention was “good” but didn’t factor in everything and went of basic statistics. I think I wrote this in another post; when I went to grade school, I would have a breakfast with tea, then in school I would eat two lunches, after school I would eat something, and then I had dinner. Now my situation was different. I had gym in school, track (running), martial arts class after school, and what I would say a modified marines workout daily(insanity if you ask me). I didn’t break over 125 pounds until I was 26. I could eat a whole pizza and still be hungry.

  Either/or food in US schools is shite. But for many, sadly, it might be the only meal of their day.
