- Comment on When it comes to total water use, AI data centers are a drop in the bucket 1 week ago:
even as individual data centers can strain local water supplies
Isn’t this the main problem. Doesn’t matter what they use in aggregate if most places dont have a data center what matters is the area around the data centers

Plus there’s so much more music each day it all gets diluted and hard to find.
I also always felt like as we move on artists will be much smaller as far as their following, like their time of fame will be smaller and shorter. Comparing like Beethoven who is world famous for generations to like metallica who is pretty big then like Taylor swift who is also huge but I feel each window getting shorter lived as more people spread out their preferences amongst all the artists and people use algorithms instead of buying an artists CD

I guess choosing to have a horrible life, it might be a mindset. I know parents that dread hanging out with their kids and leave them behind with grandma as often as they can to go to like fancy dinners or events. Maybe unplanned pregnancy before discussing things like that with your partner can lead to this kind of feeling of being stuck in life.
For us we go to events or dinners that we think our kid would enjoy. Like we recently went to Vegas and our kid loves buses and trains so we took the trams around and had a blast. It was the funniest trip to Vegas I’ve had and it was because different aspects if it became fun. The other part if it is enjoying a bunch of stuff over again that you liked as a kid. Tons of nostalgia, coming across old books I used to read but completely forgot about etc

watching squirrels reminds me of myself when I was playing arc raiders, running from corner to corner, stopping to see if I hear anything around me, then scavenging for stuff, then run some more to another corner and repeat. then come across some big arc and run for my life

One of the biggest benefits of college is networking, its much harder to get a job without knowing someone so its important to get out of your comfort zone a bit and meet people that might help you if they get a job somewhere or you may help them get in
