I’ll be the first to admit that in no way have I been even close to perfect in terms of doing all the doctor recommends, but I do cook 90% of my meals at home from actual ingredients, drink a lot of water, have a great group of close friends who like to get out and do stuff, and generally continue to stay active mentally and physically. I don’t have kids, so from what I hear that may help somewhat with sleep patterns. I definitely stay out too late on occasion, and probably drink too much alcohol, but am at a normal, healthy weight, and have good checkup numbers. So yeah, just that same old damn boring stuff…eat right, stay active, stretch, strength train, drink lots of water. Lame, but effective.
I will say, there was a time in my life when I was very unhappy with my job and location, so I sacrificed a lot to move across the country (to Denver) to pursue the lifestyle I thought was best for me. I was dead broke, and it sucked for a while, but ultimately, it was well worth the challenges and I feel like I got an extended youthfulness by doing that.
Best of luck to you…every time I have an injury, it renews my appreciation for trying my best to stay healthy.

FWIW - I’m in my mid-50s and still feel basically the same as I did in my late 20s / early-30s. All of these aging memes strike me as odd and/or maybe people who haven’t been kind to their bodies. I sleep like a rock on a normal bed, with one pillow, and wake up rested with no pain and get out of bed and do normal stuff just fine. Weird, huh?

I’d like to think there’s a lovely evil cheese plate and demonic crudité on this sideboard.
- Comment on What are some examples of some of the most well-known and watched TV series at the time that been forgotten culturally? 1 month ago:
It cracks me up because obviously “Dallas” is right there in the name for that one. Yes, absolutely Dynasty was ABC’s answer to Dallas (on CBS) and they are SO similar. I’ve had a handful of people who are totally convinced Dynasty took place in Texas and get angry and refuse to believe it when the internet says otherwise (or I point out Denver’s downtown is in the opening credits). Mandela effect I guess…

That was originally called Dynasty II: The Colbys, but they probably dropped the first part to make it easier or something. It follows the same characters though. Basically a failed reboot.

Dynasty.
So many people think it took place in Texas…it was Denver, Colorado and surrounding areas (although a lot was filmed in California).
It was a nighttime soap opera that tackled a lot of socially tricky topics (being gay, oil & gas industry, women’s rights, Joan Collins’s wardrobe). Until it got weird and aliens and shit showed up.

I wouldn’t think so on the movie thing. I think it would have to be a video rental store, although not necessarily specifically named Blockbuster. Technically I still “rent” movies at my library through their Kanopy streaming service, but I don’t think that’s in the spirit of the list.
- Comment on Today's Survey. One point for everything that you have NEVER DONE 2 months ago:
Same. I’m actually surprised at the number of people who have owned them based on these responses. I used them at the library, and probably had a digital one that came with a computer (like Encarta or something), but never owned a full set, which is what I’d guess this list means.

I’m at 1 as well for never owning an encyclopedia. I’m actually surprised how many have. I used the ones at the library. I’m assuming this means the physical book kind, and not a digital one like Encarta or something.

Not much to worry about in terms of getting pregnant either.
- Comment on Is there any negative consequence to wearing socks inside out? 3 months ago:
Sometimes the way the seams are sewn makes them more comfortable to have on the “right way around” so the sock material is a buffer between the seam and your foot. May not apply to all socks.

Memory fades and changes, but even so, enjoying the feelings and reminiscing are more meaningful than any photo. I hate this meme though (I know you’re not OP - just venting) because I’m a woman who never takes photos and just enjoys the moment. There are lots of us. It really doesn’t have to be gendered.

I realize I’m in the minority, but I love working on the weekends and then taking Mondays and Tuesdays off to do stuff when things are less crowded. Flex time is amazing.

There was an Alan Buser at my last company…yep, abuser@company.com. Not only did he have to live with that as his email, but he would occasionally receive reports that definitely should have gone to HR. Eventually they let us alias it to alan@company, but as far as I know when I left he was still getting anything sent to abuser@company too. He was such a nice guy too!
