“We do things a little different around here.”
And then proceeds to do everything by the vanilla play book. Moreso for manbun burger places, but still works here.

“We do things a little different around here.”
Then proceeds to explain Tapas.
Or all you can eat with a tablet
Differently? Alright, what’s on tap?
“we serve coke products here, sir”
They charge differently maybe
Oh if that’s what’s being served at $25 I’d wonder if I’m trapped on the Abraham Lincoln and just dissociating/imagining my daily life.
They might not be updating their marketing materials.
I hear their tacos will change your life.
Yum! used to be Pepsi’s fast food division.
Affording beef, in this economy? Fancy.
It’s been ages since I’ve set foot in a bbq restaurant because of this.
*equips cane, glasses, and supplemental O2 tank*
Back in my day, an entree in c these places wouldn’t break the bank, and would send you home with leftovers every time.
Can y’all stop using the word entree to mean main course rather than appetizer? It has the same root as entry for a reason lol, it comes before the main course. The English word is just “main course”.
Entree is common Anglo parlance for the main meal. Shut up, pedant.
I had an outree for dessert.
This is what Mission BBQ is like, but add in the guilt trip to buy a $3 plastic drink cup “for the troops”. And the barbecue is not good. It’s not inedible or anything, it’s just that everything (including the sides) is loaded with sugar.
I had Mission BBQ onboard the US Ship Truman and did not pay anything so if you bought a cup thanks for your service. Like and unlike the Lincoln the total deployment time was 7 months with 2 port visits and in the gulf Arabian Sea the supply chain isnt always the most efficient.
I didn’t buy a cup FWIW. I assumed you guys were paid from the US military budget and hence from my taxes, not from Mission BBQ plastic cups.
Ah yes the three item meal plus one other thing.
24 dollars? What? Does that come with a hand-job?
Yes, but it’s not applied to your equipment, but rather your wallet.
Briskit is $40/lb at the last bbq place I went.
It’s spelled Brexit
Which is insane. I remember 1/2 lb moist for $4.99. Brisket used to be a cheap meat because it was always thought horrendous, and smoking it was the only way to tenderize it enough to be palatable. Freaking ridiculous.
Where are you getting $24 handjobs?
Your mom
Finally, a career that I can excel at
As a vegan, if you’re partaking of killing animals for their meat… and your result is that pathetic dry cut of flesh… it’s extra extra evil
As a non-vegan, I agree with you.
Yeah definitely, we should probably also use the other parts of meat too then. Do you have a newsletter?
I feel bad for people that don’t have access to good Barbecue.
As someone who lives in 1 of those areas and visited Texas once 3 years ago I agree… I never had bbq ever like that before. Thats all we did for 3 days straight, bbq, brewery, bbq, brewery, concert festival at night. Best trip I had in a long time.
Texas has the shittiest fucking barbecue. To the point where they shouldn’t even be fucking calling it barbecue it’s fucking garbage. If someone asked if you want barbecue in Texas, you should expect a fucking sausage on a tortilla. Fucking trash.
I have direct access and make it myself, you might find some better but way cheaper from ho,e
Always splurge for moist.
If you’re splurging and it’s not moist, you need to hydrate more
Rudy’s is good in a pinch but way better options across TX.
They are two different parts of the brisket. The “moist” is from the point which is fattier than the “lean” flat.
Yea, lemme get some dry brisket, because it’s good that way…
A half pound of coked ribs? That’s like 2 ribs.
I was about to grumble, but then I saw $3.49 for Cole slaw and can only believe this is a joke.
Depends ribs of what. Chicken ribs, you get lots of ribs. Beef ribs, only part of one.
Sorry, I brought my own
Pickles? In this economy?
That’s like 16 Costco hotdog meals.
More like 15 here, sales tax sucks in WA
10.4% last I checked. Nice and regressive.
I hope you don’t like schools or an educated population
Allegedly the USS Abraham Lincoln, perhaps even better conditions…
There haven’t been a ton of bright spots moving back here to the south, but plenty of good bbq places is one of them.
And the pickles are the only thing worth eating.
Nah. They are Mt. Olive. Not even Vlasic, let alone something actually edible.
Hahaha that cheap Mt. Olive. I take it back. 😂
Have you been to private equity burger? It’s worth the mortgage.
There’s a bandannas bbq in town and I can get at least twice that amount of food for only $49.99
I mean the math does work out. Picture is $25, twice the amount of food for $50 is literally the same
OMG yum!

Can’t be. Meat isn’t blue enough.
anugeshtu@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
No, I heard those meals need to be “steamed” 🤪
