Aren’t tariffs hitting across the board on electronics? Costco is still selling computers, phones, televisions, and other consoles. Seems like this is very much a branding thing.

I really enjoy Ramit Sethi’s take on this; he encourages what he calls living a rich life. Yeah you should look to your financial future but you have to balance it with your life now. It’s sad when you’re limiting yourself out of fear. He’s an advocate for spending where it brings you value (and only you can decide that), and aggressively cutting out the things that don’t.

Vehicles are notoriously not investments except for some incredibly exceptional cases. Glad you enjoyed your time with it. That’s the best you can hope for.
- Comment on Can you think of any now? 3 days ago:
It’s not vague at all. It’s a classification that needs to meet three criteria. The lack of this classification is why it was taught that pluto was a planet, but once these things were formalized in 2006 it became clear that pluto no longer met the criteria.

Curious to see what you think is the dangerous part for the business side. I see preorders as this holdover from a time when physical media was king and scarcity could (and sometimes did) prevent day one purchases. It certainly makes less sense now for consumers unless you must have the bonuses (if any).

The factors that influence development costs in order to keep up with the quality of the times is no doubt complex, but at the end of the day you’re spot on. It’s only worth what the consumers will pay.

CRT contrast ratios were unmatched until plasma. LEDs never compared until OLED. Flat screen CRT HDTVs were amazing.

I think I get the gist of what you’re saying but they’re very much not arbitrary. They’re a direct manifestation of a state’s ability to exert control.

Never played the first but the second I’ve had since mind numbing gameplay loops that didn’t do it for me.
