Why would I ever mess with physical media ever again? What a waste of space and effort. Streaming services give me a breadth and width of options unrivaled in history. And if I dislike the streaming price (way worth it in my opinion) then digital purchasing or even pirate methods are available.

I’m with you. I actually like discord.

I wouldn’t say we know. It’s an educated guess, but it’s incomplete.
- Comment on Alien: Isolation is too long because the Alien is too clever, says former Creative Assembly writer 1 week ago:
As a patient gamer I have a high tolerance but I prefer my games on the shorter end. 20 hours sounds like the sweet spot to me for core gameplay to be honest. I can also respect the stance of wanting longer too though.
- Comment on Not to get all religiony but why in the old testament God was all fire and brimstone and fatal consequences? But the new testament God is all about forgiveness and such?? 2 weeks ago:
Because it’s all fake and the authors changed.

Aren’t tariffs hitting across the board on electronics? Costco is still selling computers, phones, televisions, and other consoles. Seems like this is very much a branding thing.

I really enjoy Ramit Sethi’s take on this; he encourages what he calls living a rich life. Yeah you should look to your financial future but you have to balance it with your life now. It’s sad when you’re limiting yourself out of fear. He’s an advocate for spending where it brings you value (and only you can decide that), and aggressively cutting out the things that don’t.

Vehicles are notoriously not investments except for some incredibly exceptional cases. Glad you enjoyed your time with it. That’s the best you can hope for.
- Comment on Can you think of any now? 3 weeks ago:
It’s not vague at all. It’s a classification that needs to meet three criteria. The lack of this classification is why it was taught that pluto was a planet, but once these things were formalized in 2006 it became clear that pluto no longer met the criteria.

Yes we can.
- Comment on Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now on Steam - and it broke Steam servers for 15 minutes and counting now 1 month ago:
Curious to see what you think is the dangerous part for the business side. I see preorders as this holdover from a time when physical media was king and scarcity could (and sometimes did) prevent day one purchases. It certainly makes less sense now for consumers unless you must have the bonuses (if any).

- Comment on Game prices should have increased with every new generation, former PlayStation US boss says 2 months ago:
The factors that influence development costs in order to keep up with the quality of the times is no doubt complex, but at the end of the day you’re spot on. It’s only worth what the consumers will pay.

I think I get the gist of what you’re saying but they’re very much not arbitrary. They’re a direct manifestation of a state’s ability to exert control.

Never played the first but the second I’ve had since mind numbing gameplay loops that didn’t do it for me.
