It’s well known that reddit obfuscates votes on purpose. Views I have no idea.

Antiperspirants contain aluminum, not deodorants.

You probably smell really bad. Olfactory fatigue might make you think otherwise. Just shower and moisturize. Find skin friendly soap.

Truck drivers have such small dick energy. Further, consent is not required to post pictures taken in public.
- Comment on More than 1,200 games journalists have left the media in the last two years | VGC 2 weeks ago:
I’ll only address journalism as it relates to video games/reviews, but my opinion is that there are better ways to communicate information about a game than reading about it.
For me the big one is simply seeing it played. I’ve read beautiful reviews of games that when it comes time to play do not click for me. Watching someone else play it gives me way more context and appreciation. My go to for this is simply youtube. I skip the middle man entirely. I get a wide range of videos from different players in an easy to access format. Others I know use twitch to similar effect. As the options for providing this information grow, older media lose footing. I’m not surprised at all. I’m not sure we should lament it, truthfully.

- Comment on Is there any way the average American can insulate themselves from the AI bubble bursting? 2 weeks ago:
Risk tolerance is definitely a thing and I’d argue being all in on the s&p500 is already poor diversification. Global broad market etfs would fare better. The worst thing to do regardless of tolerance or portfolio is selling at crash.
- Comment on Landlords are parasites 2 weeks ago:
Precisely. When comparing against home ownership, people often only consider the mortgage.
- Comment on Landlords are parasites 2 weeks ago:
As always, you have to run the numbers. Ownership also comes with hidden costs. Property taxes and maintenance aren’t cheap.
- Comment on 'This is definitely my last TwitchCon': High-profile streamer Emiru was assaulted at the event, even as streamers have been sounding the alarm about stalkers and harassment 2 weeks ago:
Don’t think the comparison is valid. While there will be creepers at hooters, they are more likely to already be social and accustomed to the norms. They’re out and about. Whereas there’s an undeniable mass of socially inept users that streaming specifically caters to. They have zero concepts of socially appropriate behaviour and interactions.
The older single man angle has nothing to do with it.

- Comment on And they mocked me for my WoW subscription 😗 3 weeks ago:
Why would I ever mess with physical media ever again? What a waste of space and effort. Streaming services give me a breadth and width of options unrivaled in history. And if I dislike the streaming price (way worth it in my opinion) then digital purchasing or even pirate methods are available.

- Comment on Alien: Isolation is too long because the Alien is too clever, says former Creative Assembly writer 4 weeks ago:
As a patient gamer I have a high tolerance but I prefer my games on the shorter end. 20 hours sounds like the sweet spot to me for core gameplay to be honest. I can also respect the stance of wanting longer too though.

Aren’t tariffs hitting across the board on electronics? Costco is still selling computers, phones, televisions, and other consoles. Seems like this is very much a branding thing.
- Comment on whats your dumb purchases? 1 month ago:
I really enjoy Ramit Sethi’s take on this; he encourages what he calls living a rich life. Yeah you should look to your financial future but you have to balance it with your life now. It’s sad when you’re limiting yourself out of fear. He’s an advocate for spending where it brings you value (and only you can decide that), and aggressively cutting out the things that don’t.

Vehicles are notoriously not investments except for some incredibly exceptional cases. Glad you enjoyed your time with it. That’s the best you can hope for.
- Comment on Can you think of any now? 1 month ago:
It’s not vague at all. It’s a classification that needs to meet three criteria. The lack of this classification is why it was taught that pluto was a planet, but once these things were formalized in 2006 it became clear that pluto no longer met the criteria.

- Comment on Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now on Steam - and it broke Steam servers for 15 minutes and counting now 2 months ago:
Curious to see what you think is the dangerous part for the business side. I see preorders as this holdover from a time when physical media was king and scarcity could (and sometimes did) prevent day one purchases. It certainly makes less sense now for consumers unless you must have the bonuses (if any).

The factors that influence development costs in order to keep up with the quality of the times is no doubt complex, but at the end of the day you’re spot on. It’s only worth what the consumers will pay.
