That’s some good news. I was sad when the last game came out it was basically released within the same week that the visions series was no longer going to be created. I hope they make some more RPGs and try to make something new and original.

This is the kind of setup that once it’s complete you smile at how awesome it is, then pack it up because you don’t know what you even want to play and most of the games I do I wanna play i wanna play on a better monitor.
- Comment on Layoffs every 2 years 1 week ago:
I have heard several stories like this from my boss who worked at a previous place where he was asked to remove an entire team like you did. He says he will never forget it and is soul crushing. He tried his hardest to cut budgets and even found a few things were he was able to save the money and brought this to upper management where they had to break it to him that it didn’t matter what was saved, that wasn’t the point… people are just names on paper to them and if they decide this is what they want there is pretty much no stopping them. He then said he was there long enough after that where they realized it was an awful mistake and the work you get in return is not nearly as good as the original team you had so they had to hire new people back. It’s a never ending cycle these days.
I also work in IT Healthcare! It’s a brutal industry huh! Thankfully I have been with the same place for 19 years now, but it have witnessed it all. When I started we grew exponentially throwing money at everything, then the owner sold and I got to witness the “no changes expected” followed by everything changing. Then saw partners separate from us completely which was crazy work, and then the boom of covid followed by almost going belly up with massive layoffs for the past 2 years and consolidation of everything basically back to when I started in 2006!

- Comment on Is the Nintendo Switch 2 the end of innovative consoles? 4 weeks ago:
I thought about this and imo I give them a pass. It’s just the successor to the switch, it is just called the switch 2. Why would we expect it to offer or be anything different than what it already is? Honestly, I wonder how much time they spent trying to decide if they should even go the new console route or just call it a pro edition.
I think the next console release will tell a lot more regarding this. More than ever, the next console releases will really need to bring something new to the table since, at this point, there’s very little difference between getting a nice PC or a console outside exclusives. I think those lines will continue to blur so consoles absolutely need to start evolving into something more or possibly lose more people to PC rigs.

I would say the GameCube was new and different for them because they transitioned from cartridge to disc, and of course, they had to use the mini disc to be extra different from the rest.

Yeah, i know, for myself I didn’t really get to experience it until 2016 when I built myself a PC with mid range specs and then when I got the ps4 pro in like 2018. I say it’s one of those things where once you get to have it, you never wanna go back.

The majority of people playing don’t know the difference. I am shocked there won’t be a 60fps mode, i can’t remember the last time I’ve been forced to play at 30fps outside of playing older games locked to it.

Ahhh, my bad. I figured you were talking about freesync (AMD) or g-sync (Nvidea) options, which allows you to get the benefit of vsync without using as many resources to power it. Your monitor and gpu have to support it before it can be enabled. I was like, how is this bad haha!?
- Comment on Game Pass sets quarterly revenue record, sees 30% growth in PC subscribers 4 weeks ago:
I used it a lot like 5 years ago when they basically gave it away for $1 a month and then gave you additional months sometimes for $3 if you stayed. I even found a really old Xbox gamepass 1 year card from like 2004, which I got for xmas from an aunt who thought I had an Xbox. My mind was blown when it worked, and then they let you convert that old service into gamepass months for a bit. Anyway, it worked great, no issues at all. The one issue I ended up having was around space, I think. I wanna say it was something weird, like if you deleted the game from the client and it still kept the files. You had to do extra things to make sure they deleted because the files were also kept in the same location as the windows store files, which is a super odd place if you ever seen it.

Just asking why for the vsync? I got a new PC last fall and have only used freesync going forward. I wasn’t aware there was still a reason to vsync ever again if you had the option to do so.
- Comment on TIL it's impossible to delete a free trial account for AppleTv+ or Apple Music without an Apple Device 5 weeks ago:
I just did this 2 days ago. Worked fine from my non apple web browser. And yeah they definitely let you know that the trial ends immediately if cancelled. I got a 3 month trial and I always sign up and cancel it, but apple, paramount+, and i wanna say either fubu or sling do this immediate cancel of the free trial so I have to setup calender invites.

Absolutely, when I was working tech support, I would be thrilled that I didn’t actually have to do anything and get credit for closing out extra tickets and with faster turnaround time because we all know management doesn’t actually check the tickets just the metrics.

I did in my house which was built in the 1950s or 60s and it works. With that said, it was only ok and I wouldn’t use this for anything but internet access and some light streaming. This was 10 years ago so it is possible they have gotten better. I have since moved to mesh wifi and it literally solved every issue I had and the whole house has incredible wifi no matter where you are. Plus I use the AP’s to plug in my more dedicated stuff since it’s faster than wifi to use the backhaul the APs use to communicate with. I do wish I could afford to redo my house and put in ethernet wiring everywhere and have a dedicated switch for everything.

People love this stuff. I feel like this falls into addiction territory and they know it. The saddest part is would it kill them to throw you an extra free donut or drink after unlocking each one? Those are some crazy milestones and the only thing I see is how terrible I am for going here so much if I did this so at least give me a reward for doing it at the least?

I feel like this game will do good, considering how long it’s been in development already. Plus, with the success of the first game, I feel like it’s a low risk that this one will not deliver at least something somewhat decent.

Probably. I have 2 kids, and I still love Nintendo games. It does depend on a few things so I will wait to see what its capable of. I also don’t see myself buying it at release, I’m to old for that FOMO.

- Comment on Any Roguelike/Roguelite suggestions? 1 month ago:
As much as I want to love rogue light games, I just can’t get into most because I do not enjoy repeating the same thing over and over. It’s especially exhausting when you start doing 30-40 minutes runs and I am just like, nah, there’s no way I’m doing another run once I die. With that said, my favorite by far is also Slay the Spire because a run doesn’t take very long and is lighthearted, so it works perfectly. The other games I enjoyed were Dead Cells, and Children of Morta. Hades was great as well, but you mentioned that.
