it wasn’t over censorship. It was them choosing to not show children stuff that probably talks about adult themes, like death. Because maybe you shouldn’t be talking about blowing someone’s head off to children, right? Sane decision.
Then influencers decided they wanted money and more money meant avoiding the algorithm from noticing you talk about adult themes, so they show more users ie children, and kids love watching weird shit especially if it’s talking about adult themes. Then you get a bunch of weird fucking influencers talking about people “unaliving themselves” and targeting children viewers

I have a feeling you chumps are just paying top dollar to some rare artists that are willing to sew weird shit and essentially charge fetish prices.

- Comment on WOMEN. 1 week ago:
The main world championship and title of GM is open to everyone, so it’s not truly split.
There are FIDE women only tournaments but that’s due to there being less participation of women. When you have something like this wbere the skill distribution is gaussian, if you have like 50 women compete and 1000 men, you will notice that it’s extremely unlikely for a woman to ever reach 1st place just due to statistics. Replace women and men with brown hair and blond hair and you’d see the same phenomenon.
The tail of the statistics where you see extreme deviations of improved skill would be dominated by the population with much larger participation.
To counter this, they have women only tournaments so that you always have a woman in 1st place in some tournament, basically to improve participation and convince more girls to play when they’re young.
There are of course probably other factors but these things improve participation and are meant to help get more women in chess, not separate them out.

You know, reading the article, I think we’re just fucking headed for a depression at this point.
History rhymes, but it doesn’t repeat. Yet, it rhymes quite fucking well. 100 years ago a Republican led US did dumb fuck tariff maneuvers and caused a depression.
We might not have a dust bowl, but we’ll have weird climate shit. We might not have “slums”, but we’ll have tent cities. We might not have WW1, but we might have WW3.

I used to like his comics but now, working as a software developer for years… I’m starting to look at them different. He was always so fucking demeaning about the pointy haired bald boss, made him an absolute idiot. The constant joke was that the chad Dilbert was smarter than the idiot manager who never understood a thing about technology.
I bet Scott was an absolute fucking asshole in the office and hated having to be told what to do by people he saw as less than him.

I knew someone who briefly worked in this field and quit due to the corruption.
One day he does find endangered shit. He tells his boss, “hey you know they have so and so on this land, actually you gotta call this one.”
The boss sighs and is like, “let me explain how this works. We can do this and call it out, but next time this guy has a big project, he’s not contracting out to us. And the other guys will definitely let it slide. Either way, they’re building, and we end up going out of business eventually. You might win this one time, but eventually it won’t matter.”

The game is like the perfect level of hard imo, just difficult enough to feel like I’m actually gaming and not just “spending more time” like most games feel these days, but not so hard that it’s about punishment.
It feels fair, where you take your time and learn how things move and you will win. You rush through, and you will die. And you’re not forced to repeat the same steps over and over either. Sometimes you can just burrow through knowing how enemies attack and skip areas.
It’s honestly super frustrating to me that this level of difficulty isn’t more common. So many games these days feel like you’re just having your hand held like, “yep, you press down to duck! Guess what, the next enemy shoots. You gotta duck under that shot! Oh no, you didn’t. But we didn’t take any health away, we just played a sound effect that sounds like you got hurt ❤️. Don’t worry. None of it matters. The important thing is you walk past this and enter the next scene and spend 5 minutes watching a cut scene”.
Like ffs games feel way too cozy these days, or extremely difficult where the point is it’s hard. There’s rarely good middle ground like this.
