Front right you fucking small time chump.
Tbf I only say this because my shitty apartment stove only has one large burner and it’s the front right.
Take the small one and save energy (if not frying). It doesnt take much longer and the pot uses the energy more efficiently
It in fact takes 2-3 times longer to get the water boiling in the pot on the smaller one for me. Rather change out the gas container a bit more often. Though I’m planning to just remodel the kitchen to get rid of the gas now and go induction. The gas range is slightly newer, but the furniture is 40 years old so I’d rather go new and integrated.
Our stove functionally has 2 ( front right and back left ) but back left is inconvenient if we ain’t just putting something on to sit on its own. So we basically only have one in my eyes. So much more work to use it thanks to the oven controlls that I’ll often switch to using front left despite it being too small for the pot/pan.
I use front right. It is the superior side.
Dont say words you cant take back
sorry, bud. that’s the high power position on my stove
I’m not happy with it, either. but it’s what it is.
if it makes you feel any better, the front left is the large diameter position. similar power but not packed as densely, so doesn’t work on a 10" pan
Front right all the way! Probably my preference because I’m left-handed, but also my front left burner doesn’t even work.
My front right is the smallest one so it never gets used because it’s useless. Unless you are just trying to keep something warm then it can work
Ok… but why are we invading poland now?
I said front-right not alt-right. I may be odd but i’m not a monster.
Complete insanity, see me on the front right
Back right burner so the steam and fumes have more of a chance to get whooshed into the extractor fan
With those puny rear burners?!
Paranoid parent gang uses the rear burners for safety!!
Dont make this a turf war
Hell yes! Back left gang! Stops any fat splashes if you’re frying, too. Love my back left burner.
Kids learn real quick when they mess with the stove. If you hide it from them, how will they ever learn?
Burnt child flees fire, as we say in sweden (bränt barn skyr elden).
Front-right rules …… because that’s the big one, with MOAH POWAH!!!
FRONT RIGHT SUPREMACY!!!
always!
Fascist.
get electrical, motherfucker
Electrical is both inferior and superior to gas, depending on the application. To each their own according to preference, but for me it’s induction -> gas -> halogen -> resistive coils
Front left is for the frying pans (stir fries and saucy stuff).
Front right is for the small pots (rice, noodles).
Back right is for the large pots (stews, soups).
And back left is to put down the lids while cooking.
This is my method. This guy cooks.
Nope, not me. The knob for my front left burner inexplicably has to be pressed in after being brought back to zero to actually turn off. It doesn’t have to be pressed in to turn on, and none of the knobs for the other burners have to be pressed for anything, just the front left one to turn it off. Literally everyone in the house has burned themselves on it at least once. We do not use the front left burner.
The front left burner has rejected you and your heretic family
Upgrade to an induction stovetop and the issue disappears.
I’ll tell my landlord to get right on that.
But induction also leaves you no choice on burner supremacy. Why do they all have weird non-grid burner arrangements and only one large burner?
My front-right is supreme because it’s the only large one. Even if I secretly joined the front-left ascendancy
And that tiny summer burner behind it is unusable because the tiny pot would disappear behind the larger one
The front right is tiny and weak. My soup merely laughs at the thought, however front left is sacred and all consuming. Shall I simply warm or buuuuuuuuuuuurn.
Front left determines thy fate.
Front right!
‘Rotate to a different burner each time’ crew assemble, handles in
I mean, if you have Play from Kid 'n Play agreeing with you, then I’m in.
I though it was just me seeing him 😃
I just bought a new range, and I will admit that I actually created a digital model of the candidates and evaluated which range layout was superior via Monte Carlo simulation of pot placement and BTU based heating times.
There was a Bosh I really wanted, but the centre burner was the strongest element and that layout was overall less effective when combined with a 12” cast iron, meaning one of the two had to be on a lower power burner. If I want to make pork chops in my skillet, a delicious fettuccini in a pot, a cream based sauce in my saucier pan, and cook up some French beans in a fry pan, the Bosh would have taken like 30% longer to prepare due to the boiling time of the water (I no longer remember the exact times).
Bosh please rethink your 30” gas range centre burner layout. It is most efficient for soup making or meat searing, but soup making is very rarely constrained by heating time (low and slow wins) and searing meat is usually accompanied by sides, so the smaller edge burners are less effective.
Front right wil place the pan handle near the left burner if you’re righty. On the other hand, if it’s a free standing range with no countertop, the pan handle becomes a danger if using the left burner.
Personally, I prefer the back burners, starting from the left, so the vapors/smoke are better contained by the range hood.
Front right wil place the pan handle near the left burner if you’re righty
Huh? My pan handle on the right burner gets put at 4-5 o’clock. Cast iron pan is heavy, I need to use my right hand to maneuver it.
It’s always just which ever is the biggest. They need to have two big ones the same size.
Science needs to resolve this question for both gas and electric. Is bigger always better? Or is it like how things thaw slower in hot water?
depends on target temperature, and how much gradient from internal to external temperature is acceptable. high heat will cook the outside much faster than the inside, which is fine for something like rare steak with a seared outside and relatively low core temp, but cooking chicken the same way will have the outside completely dry and charred by the time the core gets where it needs to be. lower heat gives more time for heat to spread all the way through, so the difference between core temp and surface temp is less
Small pan, small burner. It’s not that deep. Having flames licking up the side on a big burner is wasteful and more dangerous
Hey everyone! Look over here. This person cooks with only one big burner. Lol.
Each size has its role.
I rarely need the biggest burner, and the gas valves only go so low (to avoid accidental extinguishing) so i tend to use smaller ones. Full chat on the biggest one will incinerate most food!
Is bigger always better?
Bigger pot, bigger burner. Smaller pot, smaller burner. It’s not complicated – just use the one that best matches the size of the cookware you’re using.
My kitchen setup favours front right. The sacred triangle is best served by it.
I find it curious this is the case. I always assumed i like left front burner because i’m left handed. but why wouldn’t right handed people prefer the right hand burner? do you leave the handle crossing through the whole thing?
for me it’s because the front right burner is smaller and i don’t want to have to reach to the back burner
I was about to do my breakfast and realize I do grab the pan with my right hand and it’s me that leaves the handle crossing through the stove.
I thought I hated the stove at my new place because it’s a glass top, but I found out it has inductive coils and the front left burner has a small and wide setting. My front left burner beats ass.
My cat likes to chill right of the stove. Damn right I prefer left mow; it only takes a little burnt tail to get you to stop using the right altogether. (He’s ok btw, cat fur is weirdly fire retardant.)
my front left burner is the small one, which i need less. in reality, everyone just prefers the largest front burner.
If that one goes on the fritz… your heating options devolve to ’Nuclear’ and ‘Bic lighter’
My stove is just a platform for my 2 burner induction hotplate. Way more efficient and faster than the radiative heat burners on the stove, though I’ll use then occasionally for large pots or stone bowls.
If only it was the big element on my stove ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა
I use the front left for single meals and the front right (big element) for meal prep
🙏praise be the lord almighty

Blasphemous tripe! front right is better and you can never change my mind!

Quality shitpost for once. I need to fight by your side.

My front left is a simmer burner, while my front right is a quickboil. Of those, right quickboil wins for sure.
However, my long middle burner is for a cast iron griddle, so I can make grilled cheese and pancakes without a pan. That burner wins, hands down.

I had that same stove at a rental and almost signed another year just for that dope ass stove LMAO love the center griddle

Yeah they put quick boil on my right. Easy win. My left I’ve noticed takes a lot more time to get to temp
