My vacuum is a miele, it’s a tank but light and powerful, but it’s also 10 years old so I don’t know if the quality is still there today in new products.
- Comment on Enshittiflation 2 days ago:
But you got all those sweet touchscreens and stuff right?
I wonder if there are good brands still. Bosch? Miele?

Ya or just drink f-n water if you’re not training for the olympics 😁 (and if you do, I bet you don’t chug “spirt drinks”).
I bet those sport drinks are just worse for you compared to plain old tap water in all situations.
- Comment on Gatorade, inventor of the sports drink, is getting a rebrand targeting non-athletes 3 days ago:
“Sportdrink” what an absolute proof people are gullible.
Let’s drink soda after running (it has a little bit of salt in it!!! And I’m so athletic I need special soda afterwards).
What now, the sport drink for people who do no sport? If only there was a name for that already…

It’s not an exact science for starters so a +/- 5 points seems a likely margin, but I guess its just inside one “normality”. 125 would be at +1 and so on (just making example numbers here).

We almost all have, but those without (at least those with ego problems) hone their skills their entire life to fool everyone else. IMO.

I have always wondered why language skills are in an IQ test. If someone speaks 1 language he’ll be better off than someone speaking 3 as the test is only in one language?

- Comment on How should a news article website financially sustain itself? 1 week ago:
Yeah sure I know, I’m just fooling around. Personally I think music played on the radio (any radio, even your homemade amateur radio) should be paid for not by the radio but the government.
Maybe news could be financed similarly. But with no strings attached of course.

Arrrr
- Comment on How should a news article website financially sustain itself? 1 week ago:
Normalize paying like 1€ for 1 article.
I don’t want some 9€99/month*(12 months then 15€99) bullshit.
*If paid for a whole year in one go.

That’s not how currencies work.
Or when sweden scrapped the 10.000SKR bill (one of the most “costly” ever) suddenly you could vacation there?
Your question doesn’t make sense.

Template metaprogramming (with the variadic function) is like from the late seventies IIRC… Older than C++!
Well, people might argue about the definition but the idea has been around some fair time …

He’s not that important, historically.
