  My old man never really understood the stuff I liked (Battletech, D&D, Magic, Star Trek) but he knew they were important to me and that I wasn’t unhealthy over them, and that was good enough for him.

  Actually he managed to work Star Trek into the stuff he taught me like classical physics and quantum mechanics.

  I work 6 to 2. If I need to take a couple hours for a medical, family issue or car appointment, then I let my boss know and he says it’s okay. I’m usually able to schedule things so that I put appointments and so on when I don’t have big meetings. So long as the work gets done it’s cool.

  If I’m feeling rotten, I phone in and say I’m either too sick to work or that I’ll WFH that day.

  Of course, if I have a big vacation planned then I will put in for leave. I get 25 days off a year.

  I had a 6 AM start microbiology lab. In order to get myself going, I brought a bottle of wine carefully poured into a bottle of Gatorade.

  I fucking loved that class.

  Here’s a couple unique ones:

  Showgunners - Turn Based Strategy with some great art and setting.

  Lonestar - Space based rogue like turn based with a surprisingly intricate combat system.

  Project Wingman - Love letter to Ace Combat with a soundtrack that just DOES NOT miss.

  Tactical Breach Wizards - XCOM with wizards. Funny as hell.

  Battletech - Older title by Harebrained Schemes but still awesome. Giant stompy robots turn based. Great plot too. Actually had the original devs of Battletech on board.
