When you open the crosslink you’ve got to enter your instance so that it sources the comment on your instance. Good news is that you can change the instance if you set the wrong one pretty easily.

Doing a comment is a little strange due to how instances log those.
Here’s a link to a tool for it.
And a test link to the comment I initially replied to using the tool

If you format the link with an exclamation point community @ instance it create an instance agnostic link.

I do agree with you that carpet is awful, but that mustard yellow or olive green carpet combined with the conversation pit just hit me right in the nostalgia.
I would say go with a wood floor (not the landlord-chic-nightmare in the picture) but with the wood panel walls it’d be a bit much on the wood.

SO MUCH THIS!
The soul of everything has been sucked out, we get greys and whites. And if we’re particularly bougie: stainless steel and black enamel.
Cars, appliances, furniture, flooring, etc.
I want the world to have CHARACTER again!
- Comment on modern classic 4 weeks ago:
The first one has character, it has SOUL.
The second one went with soulless landlord chic. It has no character anymore.

I’d personally keep a carpet but go with an olive rather than the blue-green that it is in the left pic

Wood paneling is so pretty though!

CRTs are peak for retro gaming
But I can’t imagine the kind of person who would love retro gaming would destroy such a beautiful room like this

That’s the big problem really, affording the ability to fight shit like this.
I’m unfortunately in such a situation where I wouldn’t be able to fight it if they tried to evict me for it.
Though my home state now makes it so they have to allow us to install one, it doesn’t mention them being unable to put restrictions on it’s install. One of those fun things where it’s better than it used to be it’s still not perfect. But steps in the right direction is always a plus.

I’ve seen some insane restrictions on what you can and can’t do in apartments.
Like in my apartment I’m only allowed to put an AC in 1 window of my apartment (the furthest from the bedrooms BTW), it can’t be anything other than a portable AC, and any gap around the hose needs to be clear (glass, polycarbonate, acrylic, etc.) yes even the window insert that comes with the AC has to be clear. When I moved in I thought the insert around the hose that came with it not being clear would be fine, it in fact was not. It also has power draw restrictions so I can only basically get the smallest kinds on the market.
I’m also required to have all windows and doors closed and locked when nobody is at home. Yes that means I have to pull my AC hose out of my window when I’m not home. I figured that out again the first year I lived in my apartment. (they rang my bell when I wasn’t home, then sent me a certified letter informing me I had 72 hours to fix the problem or they would serve me notice to vacate.)
Yes every summer it easily clears 90F (32C) inside and sometimes even breaks 100F (37C). And due to being an upstairs apartment that means the heat stays almost in it’s entirety overnight.

“But she’s a 500 year old [dragon/elf/vampire/etc] in human form, it’s fine bro.”
Looks like a child, acts like a child, would be considered a child by their own culture/species: That’s a child bro.
I’d like to say I’ve never had that conversation but I have.
“Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” was fine (though not everyone’s cup of tea) until they started to sexualize the minors (which was basically at the introduction of the child “dragon”). Then I stopped watching it. And from what I hear, I picked a good spot to stop watching as it only got worse from there in regards to the minor characters.
