30 something woman here, apparently I masturbate a lot compared to my friends.
I have to say “yeah once a week too” when they raise the subject ,when in fact it is multiple times a day. Husband would also do 2 times a day if he kept to his “normal” cadence. I know “whatever works for me” is right, but I’d like to compare to other people my age that aren’t my friends.

He works away for large chunks of time, he also tried to match my orgasm count for a while but couldn’t (which is what I would expect) we do fuck most days when he’s home, or if not, he cums on me.

And everyone is different, so “normal” or “a lot” varies. Consider yourself lucky you have a partner with equally good sex drive. There are many couples in very different situations.

It varies for me based on stress and energy. When I’m in a low mood it’s maybe once a day, if I’m feeling more turned on and energetic then probably two or three times in a day? Your frequency doesn’t sound odd to me, but there can be a lot of variance person to person. If it’s not interfering with your life and you aren’t rubbing it raw go for it as much as you feel like, there’s nothing wrong with it.
It’s more a question of why, and whether that represents something functional, or something that gets in the way of other things you want to do, or should be doing.
That’s what defines addiction; whether it’s stopping you from a lifestyle that would make your spirit happy. Basically does it get in the way or take you somewhere you don’t enjoy being?
Because there’s reason, the body, and the spirit… and they don’t always agree. So making the right choice on who to listen to is important.
…for a lot of people masturbating is their primary cope (way of dealing with stress), and it limits them. They might get a fuller life if they diversified into hobbies, exercise, meditation, social activities, or self-knowledge/mastery (eg. Why do I do this?).
This gets into the question of if/when, and how to change habits.
However, it’s also perfectly possible what you do is just your jam, and you should just keep (literally) doing you.

I can’t imagine someone being so sex positive! Good for you guys. In America its largely “shameful”.

It’s one of the things that kept us interested in the early days, previous boyfriends where no where near as open or as active, one was 2 or 3 times a week and one was once a day max.
His previous girlfriends were mostly once or twice a week, except one who was an absolute freak and I’d quite like to meet her 🤣
