- Comment on Why is ethanol so tasty? 3 hours ago:
Fascinating, I drink alcohol solely to get drunk. Absolutely hate the taste. There are levels to it of course, I prefer bourbon to scotch for example. But none of it, shy of the fruity (usually) drinks that cover up the alcohol flavors, do i actually enjoy drinking.
Different strokes I guess.
- Comment on Wearing a helmet and a hat while biking 3 hours ago:
Would it look stupid to place the cap on the handlebars
No.
or clip the cap into the strap of the helmet to carry it while riding?
Yeah kinda, I’m imagining it hanging from your face?
If you have a snap back kind of hat, yeah just attach it anywhere on the bike I’d say, or depending what you’re wearing, to you in some way. Don’t over think it.

Including an unredacted version of emails that had been leaked (which prompted this release) with the victim redacted. But you know, the reason they didn’t release anything else before was to protect the victims… until it’s better for Trump if they do.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 1 week ago:
Half life alyx was a solid game and I would expect valve to release another VR game for this things release. Even if not, there’s good stuff out nowadays.
Although I don’t get the motion sickness that people have mentioned so maybe I have more options.

The VR looks interesting. I had bought the HP reverb G2, but Microsoft pulled the plug on windows mixed reality, and I’ve since moved to Linux, so this might be a good replacement.
- Comment on How do I tell my Korean male childhood friend that he looks like a really cute anime girl and that I'd die for him and that I want to cuddle with him and treat him like a princess (no homo)? 1 week ago:
Sounds like you got it figured out bud. Tell them not us.
- Comment on Guess what you cannot turn off for some stupid reason! 1 week ago:
Because this setting is in the emoji section of the keyboard. That AI stickers option is for stickers you’ve already made (including from your own pictures), or you can prompt for an AI generated one if you have drawing assist turned on. If you tap ai stickers there in that screenshot it brings you to the option to turn that off (but doesn’t get rid of the button in the emoji section of the keyboard).
If you want to get rid of that entire section, you can remove the button to get to the emojis.
- Comment on If a girl asks you if you're big, are you supposed to lie or not? 4 weeks ago:
In the context of someone really asking, and not just joking around, yes you should be honest. Sounds like you’ll be on the path to showing them so don’t lie.
- Comment on Does anyone else notice an up tick in hostility on Lemmy lately? 5 weeks ago:
For me it’s everywhere. I still come to these things out of habit or because i don’t have energy for a regular hobby, but it’s getting draining. All of social media just brings me back to politics, even if funny memes are in between. I also have a habit of reading comments, and then some dingus brings the one non political thing back down to politics anyway.

nasty little grease machines
You mean the machine that is… an electric heater and a fan?
are processed garbage
Meat and cheese rolled into a tortilla? Just sounds to me like you’ve got some kind of grudge against these things.

I am judging a book by it’s cover here, but they said they’re not tech savvy, and asked the question in the post, so my assumption is that they themselves do not own one.

If this follows that, we’ll just stop buying/selling all physical games.
- Comment on Can you please help me pick a gaming desktop for my son that can run Monster Hunter Wilds? 1 month ago:
Yeah but a while back they capped your monthly hours for the paid tiers to 100 (i think you pay to keep streaming after). I was easily averaging 3 hours a day as a kid, especially with weekends and summer vacations.

- Comment on Do you think conservative feel the same need to burn it all down as everyone else felt when trump won again? 2 months ago:
What would you call someone with the beliefs that they’ve mentioned then? I agree, I don’t know of a current “conservative” political group/party that follows that idea anymore but what word better explains how they actually want things?

They’re probably just overall frustrated with the country. Somehow though “stupid politics” means go ahead and insult and generalize the people for random and inaccurate things like not using a bidet.
- Comment on How to relax and most importantly stop thinking about the things i could be doing? 2 months ago:
Why did you start working on these other projects? For fun? To learn? Are they still fulfilling that purpose if you’re burnt out? If not, what are you losing out on by not working on them? If it was for fun, then that’s over for now, go do something else for fun.

- Comment on My writing laptop just died 2 months ago:
That should be fine. I haven’t had to do it but everywhere I’ve seen says it’s tied to your hardware and it should be fine when you reinstall windows. Though with a dead laptop I’m not sure if you’re able to get a USB with the bootable media.

- Comment on What's going on with imgur right now? 2 months ago:
I actually started on imgur before I used reddit at all. I used to browse “i am bored” as a kid/teen. Eventually I thought, man I really only want the funny images, is there something that’s just that? That’s when I found imgur and I was hooked. “Sarah please” and all that.
- Comment on What's going on with imgur right now? 2 months ago:
When I first got to Lemmy i always thought a fediverse imgur would be neat. As the other comment said, imgur has been going down this path for a while, so i ended up leaving quite a while ago and never pursued the idea. Plus I’m not really knowledgeable enough to do it myself.
