- Comment on Which browser do you recommend for a low-resource PC? 3 days ago:
I’ve got an old Dell Inspiron N5010 with similar specs. Palemoon and Seamonkey both work decently, and both of them have adblock extensions available. I also agree with the recommendation to change OS if that’s a possibility, though I would NOT recommend Linux Lite; I have never found it to be very fast. I’d recommend MX Linux or antiX.
- Comment on Should I donate sperm? 1 week ago:
From the article linked above:
Concerned sperm donors should note that these cases are probably considered outside the norm.
In the cases cited, the sperm donor was also involved in the children’s lives. So it’s technically possible but very unlikely.

If you’ve got any Benadryl/diphenhydramine in your medicine cabinet, it has some anti-anxiety properties. Not really something you can take for too long, for obvious reasons, but it can help in a pinch.
- Comment on What is it about Mark Zuckerberg's appearance or demeanor that creeps people out? 2 weeks ago:
People keep bringing up autism as an explanation, and as someone who is on the spectrum, has a sibling on the spectrum, and has at least one or two other relatives on the spectrum as well…I don’t buy it. There’s Something Else Wrong with that dude. I don’t know if I believe in demonic possession, but Zuck is more or less what I imagine it would look like.
- Comment on Redditors discussing "Is the threat of inbreeding exaggerated?" is it true? 2 weeks ago:
Also I suspect that most of the posts on r/inbreeding are fictional. The “niece” and “uncle” have identical writing styles, for one.

Genetically, as someone else pointed out, it’s not a huge problem as an occasional thing. Ethically? It gets dicey.

I can run antiX on my old Dell Inspiron, with 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB HDD. It’s slow when it comes to browsing but it’s functional.

Less “wild animals,” more “oh fuck I twisted my ankle” or something mundane but nasty like that

Mmmaybe keep the phone on you in case of emergency but keep it on “Do Not Disturb” or turned off.
- Comment on If A zombie is dead. Completely dead why does a shot to the Brain kill them? Is the brain keeping them semi alive? Also how do they keep sharp teeth to bite you and not rotting away? 1 month ago:
Also the head is where all the sensory organs are, plus the teeth. Even if the headshot didn’t kill it, a headless zombie is much less of a threat.

Not enough to be an issue unless you already have diabetes or another blood sugar problem.

There’s a fork of QKSMS called Quik SMS that’s still being developed! That’s what I use now.

- Comment on I am looking for a Linux OS 4 months ago:
Honestly, if you’re mostly using Steam for gaming, pretty much any major distro will work. Linux Mint is my personal choice for newbies but if something else strikes your fancy, go for it. I second the recommendation for checking on ProtonDB to see if your games are supported. I would also recommend ProtonUp-Qt as a program once you’ve installed Linux; it’s really good for managing different Proton installs on Steam quickly and easily. Also also, I have personally had better luck with the Flatpak version of Steam, rather than the native distro versions, because it has less weird dependency issues, but YMMV. Good luck!

This is just the Minecraft coordinates system and it sucks. “OK I’m at the coords, where’s the–oh fuck, it was -3002, 108 not 3002, 108.”

I used to get this sometimes. Turnes out my body doesn’t process fructose well. Look into FODMAPs if none of the other suggestions work for you (usually the FODMAP thing requires an elimination diet, I just lucked out due to weird circumstances)

I have anxiety and I’m also into horror. I dunno if it’s helped, but I don’t think it’s made anything worse at least.

Wow, the 200m freestyle, the 500m freestyle, and the 1650m freestyle, huh? Did she ever compete in anything else, or were those numbers perhaps cherry-picked to make the situation look more dramatic than it actually is? Because if you look at her results holistically, she’s a very good swimmer, but she’s clearly not dominating 100% of the time the way she’s been portrayed.
At the NCAA competition where Thomas won one (1) race that conservatives cried and shit their pants over, a cis woman named Kate Douglass set 18 new records. Lia Thomas set zero new records. And crunching the rest of the numbers bears this out: she was a good swimmer before and after transition, but she’s not some unbeatable powerhouse that cis women have no chance at winning against.

I’ve been to at least one distillery and a hydroelectric dam. These days, your best bet is probably to just check the website of wherever it is you wanna go to.
