Yeah #10 is how mine is set up. Except the center monitor is an extra wide curved monitor.
ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 5 hours ago
You mean which mental illness? Hard to tell. My guess is SAD.
TerHu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 hours ago
my guess is bunny ears
MoonRaven@feddit.nl 4 hours ago
1080p left, QHD middle, ultra wide right.
SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 6 hours ago
Nobody ever called me normal before 🥲
vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 9 hours ago
I have a CRT and a standard flat screen where am on this?
pyre@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
poor
vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 32 minutes ago
I’ll have you know CRTs are obnoxiously pricey in my region.
umbrella@lemmy.ml 10 hours ago
id argue that laptop + screen and mousekeyboard is normal. most normies that want a sit down sorta table station get that setup.
sudo@programming.dev 12 hours ago
I’ve seen a coder have exactly two vertical monitors.
Warl0k3@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
if you have two nicee wide monitors that’s a pretty good way to do it, gives you the benefits of a 2x2 setup but without the bezel breaking up your code halfway through.
sudo@programming.dev 12 hours ago
They weren’t wide, 21-23" 1080p.
Atropos@lemmy.world 9 hours ago
I’m none of these.
One large center monitor, a smaller 1080p to the left and right, and above the center large one for a total of four.
Perfect for being a DM.
dkppunk@piefed.social 9 hours ago
For work use I’m #13, except I remove the keyboard, put the laptop in front to use that keyboard, then center the monitors behind it.
For personal use, I’m #3

Holy… a GIS meme in the wild
MyTurtleSwimsUpsideDown@fedia.io 12 hours ago
I want to meet the man who uses 7, but 14 scares me.
Strayce@lemmy.sdf.org 14 hours ago
6 but they’re all different sizes. One I’ve had since 2016, one was $20 from goodwill, and the other I found on the side of the road.

I fuck with your style catgirl-salute
SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 12 hours ago
Multi-DPI setups are the awkwardest. I’ve got one too
Deckname@olio.cafe 6 hours ago
My Multi-DPI setup constantly brings joy to me :) i just upgraded to two of the same monitors because of it. (Now there is only the TV, that somehow always fucks something up :D)
Soup@lemmy.world 8 hours ago
#3 is also dumb. Can’t do a single thing right in front of you, the thing is always off to one side or the other. Just commit to #5 if you want two monitors, or do what I’ve also done where my laptop fits underneath my main monitor(only applicable if you are tall enough to warrant such a high monitor placement).
ZoteTheMighty@lemmy.zip 12 hours ago
I have a software repo with multiple files that are over 5000 lines, IG wouldn’t fit on 10 monitors. I may concede my predicesors who made it this way have a mental illness, but I have to get work done, and it requires reading that file on an appropriately large monitor.
EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 hours ago
I’m kind 6. Two regular monitors and one large TV.
SuiXi3D@fedia.io 7 hours ago
I am #6.
phoenixz@lemmy.ca 7 hours ago
I’m #6
recklessengagement@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
11, and accurate. The only thing that stopped me was running out of display ports on my graphics card
Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 13 hours ago
- Need to observe stuff while gaming or coding or whatever.
bizzle@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
I have an ultra wide and a vertical 1080p it’s amazing
snoons@lemmy.ca 14 hours ago
5 but mostly because I like looking at pretty jwst pictures when I die in a video game. Technically it’s for my music player and monitoring torrents…
Jayjader@jlai.lu 11 hours ago
I daydream of #16
I’ve worked on a reverse #10 before (i.e. vertical monitor in the middle, surrounded by two landscape monitors)
Apparently Linux Torvalds works on dual 6k monitors
Ooops@feddit.org 14 hours ago
Half of those setups make zero practical sense and are only there because someone thought symmetry would look cool.
Either one secondary monitor that can be pivoted 90° or two, one being horizontal, the other vertical…
Rhaedas@fedia.io 15 hours ago
Ha, I'm not on here. Wait, that's probably a bad thing.
How is #6 only GIS and not also normal for many gaming rigs?
SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 10 hours ago
Probably because they don’t have a third category for gamers.
stelelor@lemmy.ca 13 hours ago
I’m in a GIS-adjacent field and I’m delighted to see both my home (#9) and my work (#13) setups represented!
someguy3@lemmy.world 13 hours ago
Can’t believe there isn’t laptop with monitor above.
SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 11 hours ago
The lowest tech multi-monitor setup
HakunaHafada@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 hours ago
5 reporting in!
SirSamuel@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
9 is my setup but I don’t gis on my computer, it’s just my home office setup
DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
16, but the top monitor is a 55" TV mounted to the wall for watching movies.
muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 11 hours ago
I did theatre shit and qlab on a vertical ultrawide is a dream. I never gave up that layout.
Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 hours ago
#13 but the laptop’s in between monitors. Does that count as mental illness?
ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 5 hours ago
100%

Sorry, yes…
