With the Supreme Court giving presidents immunity for “official actions” if you became president nothings really stopping you from just executing people you don’t like. Installing someone like Musky? Sure, why the fuck not.

- Comment on Why is it when I watch a movie at home? It seems like I have to go deaf just this way. I can hear the audio of somebody speaking compared to the explosions and other special effect sounds? 1 month ago:
Simple solution: turn on closed captioning.
You can still curse the morons that balance sound for movies/TV etc. while still getting all the dialogue in a movie.

- Comment on Panera founder says employees today aren't motivated by the idea of making money for shareholders: 'Nobody cares' 1 year ago:
At least one founder and former CEO agrees that the idea of boosting shareholders’ returns isn’t likely to be a key motivator to workers these days. Ron Shaich, Panera Bread’s founder and former longtime CEO, has stressed how important it is for management and members of the C-suite to empathize with their employees and better understand what can get their buy-in to the company’s mission.
“No employee ever wakes up and says, ‘I’m so excited. I made another penny a share today for Panera’s shareholders,’” Shaich told Business Insider in an interview. “Nobody cares. You don’t care whether your CEO comes or goes.”
What a click bait bullshit title. The person never said what they are implying they said.
- Comment on Alright, where do I begin? 1 year ago:
OG Star Trek, Star Trek: TNG, DS9 and Voyager are the beating heart of Star Trek as far as shows. After that is Enterprise, Picard, Strange New World’s and Discovery for live action and Lower Decks and Prodigy for animated. I only have opinions on Enterprise and Prodigy. Enterprise completly skippable. Prodigy seems good but haven’t gotten through much of it yet.
For movies there are six movies that take place in the OG Star Trek era (I like all the originals personally but some are unliked by fans).
Then there are four movies in the Star Trek: TNG era but Insurrection and Nemesis, the last two, are generally not well liked, but views could have changed with time. (I enjoyed all these as well)
(All ten of the above Star Trek movies were my childhood and therefore have a lot of nostalgia for them. So my views are skewed.)
After that you have the reboot movies which are completely skippable (my recommendation). I watched the first one and was so nonplussed I never bothered with the others. Also, J.J. Abrams is involved in them so if you like what he does you may like the movies. Personally he’s on my shit list with M. Night and avoid any projects involving them.
- Comment on SAG-AFTRA Alleges ‘Bully Tactics’ as Studios Suspend Negotiations 1 year ago:
I’m not a film historian so I can’t really give you a rundown on the how and why actors get paid the way they do now and how shitty it was for so long before. I can give you the shity answer of its art, it’s speculative and the studios will make money off their work for decades once filming ends. AND, unionize.
The tech industry is a cesspit of exploitation and it’s not gonna get better unless y’all unionize and fight for it. I can’t fathom how residuals would work in the tech industry outside of those adjacent to the arts for things like CGI and stuff.

Wouldn’t be nearly enough to get me back in an office. The benefits of working full time from home are worth far more than $5k/yr.

- Comment on How Did The Capitol Police Put Down Trump’s Insurrection? 1 year ago:
Are you referring to insurrectionist Ashli “Traitor” Babbitt?
While some have attempted to turn her into a martyr the truth is she, and the others around her, were doing something very illegal. And if they had all been non-white individuals they would have met with far more persuasive force than a few capitol police officers as was demonstrated with the BLM marches.
