Unlike trees, plastic is not self-renewing. So when humanity goes extinct, there will no longer be a steady supply of plastic for these microbes. They will crash just as quickly (geologically speaking) as they arose.

I could see water chestnuts in a fruit salad, although they’re technically corms, not tubers.

You’re already doing more than most people in terms of reducing your footprint. I take it there aren’t any bulk stores where you live?

Europe will welcome them with open arms.
The next step in the authoritarian playbook will be to limit the movement of educated people. Soon enough, those people won’t be able to leave even if they wanted to.

You might be onto something with the knock-off theory. I had Walmart shirts and underwear with the cornucopia logo.

That makes sense, that it would be your subconscious alerting. In a similar vein, whenever I know I need to shower first thing in the morning (as opposed to before bed), I often dream of showering on the bed. Yes, like standing on the mattress on top of all the sheets and pillows and blankets. Or at least somewhere in the bedroom, like on carpeted floor next to wooden furniture. I HATE those dreams so much but they keep happening.

You forgot the leaking pipes, so of course everything relatively safe to touch is also wet and cold.

For some reason I picture it as having really droopy jowls covering those canines. Like a mastiff on steroids.

One of my proudest moments was when a cardiologist looked at my ECG and asked if he could show it in his course the next day. Undortunately I could remember what he saw, and the arrythmia that led me to consult went away once I quit a major source of stress.

It could be the handbrake (well, footbrake). If that’s the case, it’s unusually close to the other pedals.

The colors are delightfully retro. Especially the yellow and red, very Kodak.

Naegleria fowleri, the goddamn brain-eating amoeba, is goddamn everywhere and I goddamn hate knowing that.

I looked it up and wow, that’s crazy. Messi is basically naturally domesticated. If the medical conditions are genetic, he could be the start of a lineage of house pumas.

The base pairs are off and that irritates me more than the art - at least that has the excuse of being evocative or something.

I used to do that too! But living in Eastern Europe, our shampoo bottles had like twenty languages. I didn’t manage to learn any, but I did develop a sense of how closely related they were.

Another clue it isn’t Quebec is that Quebec wouldn’t bother having a separate US section when the States are just a couple hours drive away.
- Comment on Moss 11 months ago:
You know what, the high arctic probably looks similar to that prehistoric moss-covered landscape. Because moss is pretty much the only thing that can survive there (and some very small plants).
