Huh I thought we were laughing at the dick button but apparently people are confused by wall mounted toilets? 😅

I hate it. it must have absolutely massive wall support
kinther@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Would not work for the average American
meme_historian@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day ago
It’s funny I’ve lived with these all my life without even considering it 😅 Even public bathrooms which have to accommodate all kinds of people and ungodly usage scenarios commonly have those here. I’ve never heard stories of it being a problem ever.
However, these are usually mounted in solid brick or concrete walls, so that’s probably why it works here
Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Very common in Europe.
There is a steel frame behind the wall bolted to the wall and to the floor with the water container/chamber, and the toilet is held up by huge metal bolts.
The ceramic toilet part can usually hold minimum 300-400 kg, so you could dance on it without any issue.
It can be fully serviced through the push button plate.
Advantages: visually more clean, easier cleaning under the bowl, quiet operation behind the wall while filling up the chamber with water.

Why’s the TP holder pointing up?
hOrni@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Because AI confused a toilet roll holder with a wall mounted lamp and gave us something in-between.

Don’t like the assthetics?
i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 2 days ago
I’m on vacation in Switzerland right now and I’ve seen this in a bunch of people’s home bathrooms.
Maybe because you’re less likely to accidentally whack the roll and knock it to the floor? 🤷♂️
yaroto98@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Does it unravel a little and brush against things?
crunchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 days ago
Must be cat owners.
snooggums@piefed.world 2 days ago
A cat could easily pull it off a sideways roll.

Endless arguments about whether unrolling the toilet paper to the left or the right is correct.
Pacattack57@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I thought the tp was a lamp😅

That’s a normal toilet? Are US-Americans again confounded by something completely mundame, simply cos it doesn’t exist in their narrow mind which only consists out of US stuff? Lol
nullspace@lemmy.world 1 day ago
You mean you don’t have a full-length window to peer down on the peasants as you take your morning constitutional on your wall-mounted designer toilet?
i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 2 days ago
Looks like a pretty typical European toilet? What’s the problem?
The large flush button looks like it got clipped on the left but that could be a weird artistic decision.
snooggums@piefed.world 2 days ago
The flush button looks like a penis.

Tap the tip for pee and the shaft for poo.
LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 days ago
Why the fuck does it look like that? Are they in the running for most confusing possible button design?
tetris11@feddit.uk 2 days ago
I hate european toilets for this reason. If I cannot access the cistern due to a plumbing problem and have to literally rip apart panelling to diagnose any issue, then this toilet is anti-consumer
BorgDrone@feddit.nl 2 days ago
You can access and replace the entire internal mechanism through the hole the wall plate for the flush buttons is mounted on.
Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 1 day ago
No need to apologize. Even access through that panel is ridiculous. Those panels are 20x40cm max. Working at 90 degrees through a small opening is unnecessarily hard. And major repairs, which will be once every 30 years or so will require ripping the wall open.
It only makes sense for commercial installs where Hotels go through complete renovations every 10 years and and an extra .5 meter clearance is critical because the bathrooms are tiny in downtown European cities.
Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 days ago
Maybe there’s a closet for it rather than it just being in the wall?
rbos@lemmy.ca 2 days ago
That wood floor is going to be gross in a few years.

AI? Absolutely seamless window frame and baseboard trim, like it’s one single piece and completely uniform.

It’s a 3D render. They also provide their CAD files.

It is pretty funny to me that AI has made people completely forget that things like Photoshop and Blender exist, instead categorizing all content as “100% real” or “100% AI”.

I initially thought that was a picture, then realized they were flush buttons. Excellent design, 10/10, no notes

If Kohler doesn’t have this as an option, they should.
